Assistant Engineer – Edging (Production and Maintenance)
Responsibilities:-
 Overall Maintenance of Edging Machine (Satisloh ES-4) CNC machine which use to edge lens according to
the traced shapes of frames.
 To reduce the chances of Breakdown of Machine during Peak production, and manage to repair Machine
and resume production in case of breakdown.
 Maintain daily, weekly and quarterly maintenance work as specified by machine developers.
 Daily wise size checking program for the shapes edged from the CNC machine.
 Manpower Management All leaves and week off decision and making manpower Sheets.
 Daily basis of Production and losses.
 To develop methods and implement to decrease the daily basis losses.
 Maintain the tool inventory for the CNC machines.
 Training and mentoring new hires in roles or responsibilities regarding Blocking strategies and
methodologies about handling of lenses.
Achievement:-
Achieved to reduce the loss percentage from 3% to 1.25% in just 4 months of integrating methodologies
of working and handling improvement, as the product with which we work are lenses. So the major causes of
losses are scratches. So guide working Workers about handling of lenses and how to work with lenses.
Learnt about Machines:-
 Major CNC is ES-4 From Manufacturer Satisloh, which is an industrial form of edging machine, it is a
single spindle edging machine with all edging wheels mounted on same spindle and use to cut one lens at
one time and on an average cut 25 pair in an hour. It is a fully automatic CNC machine and I have to
handle 6 no. of Such CNC. It is a wheel based CNC Machine for edging.
 Another major CNC is MEI-641 from manufacturer MEI, it is also an industrial form of edging machine,
it is a 6 spindle edging machine with different specified tools mount on each spindle and this also use to
edge one lens at one time and on an average it use to cut 30 pair an hour. It is a also automatic CNC but
it is front loading machine means an operator need to feed lens in it manually. Where as it is a tool based
CNC for edging Machine.
 some other Small CNC like Blue, Kappa CT-D and Delta from manufacturer Essilor, it is a manual
Machine for edging which is used earlier for edging it is not an industrial CNC but thus it has capacity of
Edging 20 pairs in an hour.
 Others small equipment such as blocking device. And tracing Device and there servicing and maintenance
work also learnt and guide worker to use them efficiently.

Achievement:-
In this organization I joined when only one Bisphera-XDD. With the growth of organization they have
bought two more CNC Bisphera-XDD. So I played the important role in assembling all the three machines. And
make an assembly of the conveyer belt and operating the all machines from one conveyor system. And made the
original layout of the Whole edging Lab Situated in okhla Of Lenskart.
Learnt about Machines:-
 Major CNC is MEI Bisphera-XDD from manufacturer MEI, it is an industrial edging CNC machine, it is a
Double spindle edging machine with different specified tools mount on a Tool magazine which use to
change tools according to the usage, it use to edge two lens at one time and on an average it use to cut
60 pair an hour. It is a fully automatic CNC. it is a tool based CNC for edging Machine. It is a fully
automatic machine as it uses to block lenses by itself and edge them.
 Some other Small CNC like Huvitz, it is a manual Machine for edging which is used earlier for edging it is
not an industrial CNC but thus it has capacity of Edging 16 pairs in an hour.
 Others small equipment such as Nidek tracer Device and there servicing and maintenance work also
learnt and guide worker to use them efficiently.

Project Name: Regenerative Suspension System
Project Summary: This project uses the Suspension Space between the Car Chassis & the Axle. As
this space goes fluctuating linearly. Hence we put a rack & pinion arrangement because of which
pinion rotate which drives a stepper gear generator. And electricity generates which is used to store
in battery.
