This is my experience snap shot (as I call it) to get a better feel of what I have done and been exposed to over the years. I plan on constantly polishing this up for better presentation - for now this is what I made. Would appreciate any queries and comments on this. Thank you.
1. OBJECTIVE:
Work in a dynamic and creative environment with a team of skilled and motivated professionals, so I can gain valuable
professional experience as well as exploit my potential to the fullest.
SUMMARY:
Four years as a process engineer in Toshiba Information Equipment Philippines (TIP).Assigned in Enterprise
Manufacturing Engineering department. Two years in handling workshop manual processes and currently handling head stack
assembly (HSA) repair processes. Specialties include process improvement, data gathering, manipulation, and analysis, material
scrap ratio (MSR) reduction, process simplification, process and machine qualifications and passrate improvement.
Improved the Self Servo writing (SSW) passrate by 50% reduction of helium leak related errors. Qualified and
established the usage of the the Pitch Static Attitude (PSA)/ Roll Static Attitude (RSA) adjustment machine and the Air Bearing
Surface (ABS) inspection machine to reduce the scrapping of head gimbal assembly and improve workshop passrate of repair
drives.
TPM (small group activity) SGA leader. Chosen to be the non-management representative of the section. Finished Basic
Japanese Language Education Program and became the top 4 of the class. Sent to Japan for the initial qualification of the
PSA/RSA adjustment Machine. Trained in TPM QM tools and the Six Sigma (DMAIC) approach in problem solving and using
basic statistical tools in analyzing relationships of data. Team leader on DMAIC training and achieved the best group award in
terms of overall workshop, and presentations.
Certified mechanical engineer. Dean’s lister and a DOST scholar during college. Member and leader of several collegiate
organizations. Can work without supervision, honest, works with integrity, diligent, methodical, resourceful and able to lead a
project.
JOB HISTORY/ACCOMPLISHMENTS/EXTRA CORRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
Workshop Process Engineer at Toshiba Information Equipment Philippines, Canlubang Industrial Park Cite
(TIP-CIP), Enterprise Manufacturing Eng’g. Dept. (March 2012- July 2014)
• Qualified the usage of the auto screwing machine in PCBA mounting process, resulting to the elimination of the visual
inspection of screws, reduction of loose screws, and increase in process output by 30%.
• Qualified and established the usage of the chamber type helium exhaust machine and the helium-SSW machine thus improving
the helium exhaust process cycle time from 90 secs per drive to 20 secs per drive.
• Detected helium exhaust machine non-conformities which led to the improvement of the machine and elimination of drives
running at heat run test with still helium inside.
• Initialized the modification and conversion of the helium exhaust machine into a pressure check machine that detects if the
drive has lifted breather filter thus eliminate customer claims regarding failed drives due to lifted breather filter.
• Evaluated the usage of 98% helium concentration on the drive instead of 99% resulting to the decrease in helium consumption
by 40 cc less per drive and reduction of process cycle time by 30 secs.
• Co-implemented the usage of cheaper seals during helium injection process.
• Evaluated the usage of visually NG SATA PCBAs during the SSW process of SAS drives thus reduce the scrapping of SATA
PCBAs.
Head Stack Assembly (HSA) Repair Process Engineer at Toshiba Information Equipment Philippines,
Canlubang Industrial Park Cite (TIP-CIP), Enterprise Manufacturing Eng’g. Dept. (July 2014-Present)
• Thru process mapping and data analysis, detected and addressed the cause of the low passrate of HSA height check process
thus increasing the passrate by approximately 10%.
• Established the recovery process for Solder Bonding NGs, and swaging NG resulting to the elimination of wip repair HSAs and
reduction of head replacement.
• Evaluated and implemented the usage of the arm holder tool during the head removal process and the usage of the CMC
swaging machine instead of the Shinko swaging machine resulting to improvement of the head static attitudes.
• Qualified and evaluated the PSA/RSA adjustment machine in HSA level and initial drive level; which is expected to reduce the
PSA/RSA/Gram load measurement process HSA scrap ratio by 50%.
• Implemented the Air Bearing Surface Inspection machine thus eliminating the re-occurrence of head crash from HSAs coming
from head crash suspected drives in workshop and also improve the glide height test passrate in repair media process.
• Top 4 in Basic Japanese Language Education Program
• Team leader in SIX SIGMA (DMAIC) Training for project leaders (Won Best Team in overall)
• Promoted to Engineer-2 in October 2015.
