 Founding Director ofthe Henry County Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC), responsible for all

and civic entities; completefinancial and budgetary management.
Program Development:
 Primary responsibility for the implementation,monitoring and assessment ofthe Compass
program at Clarke University. Responsible for approving content and criteria to meet new
experiential learning outcomes towards graduation;responsible for the design, creation and
management ofonline tracking and co-curriculartranscript portal, including education on usage
to students, staffand faculty.
 Design and implementation ofall services through TRiOStudent Support Services, within the
federally regulated requirements for the program, as written in approved grant applications. The
last writing included outcomes, strategies and assessment ofnon-cognitivedevelopment in
students.
 Direct input into the development ofthe Early Alert program at BHC, including the processes
integrated into the Work Flow set-up; assessment and program changes based on data analysis.
 Initiated the review ofSARSproducts and assisted in the design and implementation ofSARS
GRID, TRAK and ESARS for the tutoring center, TRiO Student Support Services, and other
departments within Black Hawk College, creating an integrated scheduling, tracking and
reporting system for serviced provided to students;2012-2015.
 Initiated and facilitated the Math Bridges summerprogram with the BHC Math Department to
pilot the use ofALEKS, a math software program, to instruct and teach students math skills
moving them from developmental to collegelevel math courses, 2011. The product is now used in
place ofclassroom instruction for developmental math courses at the institution.
 Led the internal BHC committee charged with the exploration and implementation ofPlato
Learning software to provide onlinesupport for students in a tutorial format.
 Led implementation ofonline tutoring services to BHC students;reviewedand implemented
online tutoring services for BHC students through a contractual agreement with Tutor.com, 2009;
Ongoing collaboration with the company to expand and improveservices availableto BHC
students. 2009-2015
Personnel Supervision, Management and Evaluation:
 Direct supervision oftwo full time staff in Career Services and shared supervision on contractual
grant staff, BSW practicum students and students workers at Clarke University;identification of
professional development needs ofdepartmental staffand subsequent matching with training and
mentoring opportunities;current assessmentofgrowing needs ofthe department to determine
appropriate staffing to assurecontinuation ofservices to meet the needs ofstudents.
 Direct supervision offour full-time BHC employees and one part-time employee, as well as
indirect supervision of30+ support staffand tutoring staff, both part-time and student workers.
This includes performance evaluations for direct reports as well as compliance with both the
UAW and IFT/Pro-Tech union rules and regulations.
 Direct supervision ofone full-time and three part-time employees including hiring, training,
progressive discipline and termination;responsible for multi-disciplinary team training and
coordination; Henry County CAC.
 Direct supervision, hiring and managementof eight Site Coordinators and indirect supervision of
staff at eight sites in Scott County for the Head Start Program through IowaEast Central TRAIN.
This included employee evaluations and disciplinary guidance.
Financial Management and Budget Responsibilities:
 Management ofdepartmental budgetfor Compass and Career Services at Clarke University,as
well as grant funds administeredthrough CareerServices.
 Budget creation, managementand reporting for three budgets at Black Hawk College, including
compliance with OMB Circulars and federal regulations for TRiO Student Support Services.
 Direct oversightand development ofannual budgets for the Henry County Children’s Advocacy
Center; submission, management and reporting for all grants at the local, state and federal levels;
created, organizedand facilitated all fundraising activities.
 Direct management offunds for the eight Head Start sites in Scott County,Iowa, in compliance
with federal regulations;
 Successfully wroteand submitted the start-up grantthrough IL DCFS for funding the Henry
County CAC, 1998;Created the program design,goals, objectives, and outcomes;led service
expansion into a five county area including the creation oftwo satellite sites, to provide local
services to victims, 2002-2003;Implemented innovative technology to produce video-taped
victim interviews to reduce trauma, 2001.
External Collaborations and Partnerships:
 Work with Career Services staffto develop and nurture employer relationships via strategic
marketing and relationship management efforts.
 Member ofthe Dubuque Chamber ofCommerce;collaborative efforts to engage students in
community training and activities, as well as bring career training initiatives to campus.
 Partnership with GreaterDubuque Development Corporation to providestudents with
networking and career developmentopportunitiesboth on and offcampus.
 Collaboration with Iowa Works to offer students career development training and workshops to
increase career readiness skills.
 Collaboration with other area institutions to offer students opportunities to network with
employers and interview ofemployment and internship positions.
 Partnership with United Way to utilize an online civic engagement portal to connect with area
agencies and build capacity in the Dubuque community, as well as provideservicelearning
opportunities for students.
 Creation ofpartnership with Western Illinois University to provide internships for students in the
Graduate English Department for placement in the Black Hawk College Student Success Center,
offering opportunities in the tutoring and Supplemental Instruction programs.
 Presented at the Sloan Consortium for Online Technology with an overview ofthe programs
created and implemented at BHC utilizing technology to better serve and support students.
 Coordinated team for the United Way Day ofCaring at Black Hawk College for staffand faculty to
work on projects in the community.
 BHC Representative for the Arrowhead Conference for the Region IV NJCAA.
 Collaborated with Tutor.com to utilize the BHC campus to create a public relations video
currently used to promotetheir program nationally.
Conflict Resolution and Grievance:
 Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts with students and stakeholders, as demonstrated
through the continued responses to studentcomplaints in the TRiO SSS, Tutoring and Disability

Program Development:  Primary responsibility for the implementation,monitoring and assessment ofthe Compass program at Clarke University. Responsible for approving content and criteria to meet new experiential learning outcomes towards graduation;responsible for the design, creation and management ofonline tracking and co-curriculartranscript portal, including education on usage to students, staffand faculty.  Design and implementation ofall services through TRiOStudent Support Services, within the federally regulated requirements for the program, as written in approved grant applications. The last writing included outcomes, strategies and assessment ofnon-cognitivedevelopment in students.  Direct input into the development ofthe Early Alert program at BHC, including the processes integrated into the Work Flow set-up; assessment and program changes based on data analysis.  Initiated the review ofSARSproducts and assisted in the design and implementation ofSARS GRID, TRAK and ESARS for the tutoring center, TRiO Student Support Services, and other departments within Black Hawk College, creating an integrated scheduling, tracking and reporting system for serviced provided to students;2012-2015.  Initiated and facilitated the Math Bridges summerprogram with the BHC Math Department to pilot the use ofALEKS, a math software program, to instruct and teach students math skills moving them from developmental to collegelevel math courses, 2011. The product is now used in place ofclassroom instruction for developmental math courses at the institution.  Led the internal BHC committee charged with the exploration and implementation ofPlato Learning software to provide onlinesupport for students in a tutorial format.  Led implementation ofonline tutoring services to BHC students;reviewedand implemented online tutoring services for BHC students through a contractual agreement with Tutor.com, 2009; Ongoing collaboration with the company to expand and improveservices availableto BHC students. 2009-2015 Personnel Supervision, Management and Evaluation:  Direct supervision oftwo full time staff in Career Services and shared supervision on contractual grant staff, BSW practicum students and students workers at Clarke University;identification of professional development needs ofdepartmental staffand subsequent matching with training and mentoring opportunities;current assessmentofgrowing needs ofthe department to determine appropriate staffing to assurecontinuation ofservices to meet the needs ofstudents.

This includes performance evaluations for direct reports as well as compliance with both the UAW and IFT/Pro-Tech union rules and regulations.  Direct supervision ofone full-time and three part-time employees including hiring, training, progressive discipline and termination;responsible for multi-disciplinary team training and coordination; Henry County CAC.  Direct supervision, hiring and managementof eight Site Coordinators and indirect supervision of staff at eight sites in Scott County for the Head Start Program through IowaEast Central TRAIN. This included employee evaluations and disciplinary guidance. Financial Management and Budget Responsibilities:  Management ofdepartmental budgetfor Compass and Career Services at Clarke University,as well as grant funds administeredthrough CareerServices.  Budget creation, managementand reporting for three budgets at Black Hawk College, including compliance with OMB Circulars and federal regulations for TRiO Student Support Services.  Direct oversightand development ofannual budgets for the Henry County Children’s Advocacy Center; submission, management and reporting for all grants at the local, state and federal levels; created, organizedand facilitated all fundraising activities.  Direct management offunds for the eight Head Start sites in Scott County,Iowa, in compliance with federal regulations;  Successfully wroteand submitted the start-up grantthrough IL DCFS for funding the Henry County CAC, 1998;Created the program design,goals, objectives, and outcomes;led service expansion into a five county area including the creation oftwo satellite sites, to provide local services to victims, 2002-2003;Implemented innovative technology to produce video-taped victim interviews to reduce trauma, 2001. External Collaborations and Partnerships:  Work with Career Services staffto develop and nurture employer relationships via strategic marketing and relationship management efforts.  Member ofthe Dubuque Chamber ofCommerce;collaborative efforts to engage students in community training and activities, as well as bring career training initiatives to campus.  Partnership with GreaterDubuque Development Corporation to providestudents with networking and career developmentopportunitiesboth on and offcampus.  Collaboration with Iowa Works to offer students career development training and workshops to increase career readiness skills.  Collaboration with other area institutions to offer students opportunities to network with employers and interview ofemployment and internship positions.  Partnership with United Way to utilize an online civic engagement portal to connect with area agencies and build capacity in the Dubuque community, as well as provideservicelearning opportunities for students.  Creation ofpartnership with Western Illinois University to provide internships for students in the Graduate English Department for placement in the Black Hawk College Student Success Center, offering opportunities in the tutoring and Supplemental Instruction programs.  Presented at the Sloan Consortium for Online Technology with an overview ofthe programs created and implemented at BHC utilizing technology to better serve and support students.  Coordinated team for the United Way Day ofCaring at Black Hawk College for staffand faculty to work on projects in the community.  BHC Representative for the Arrowhead Conference for the Region IV NJCAA.  Collaborated with Tutor.com to utilize the BHC campus to create a public relations video currently used to promotetheir program nationally.
