1.0 OMV PAKISTAN (Miano - Kadanwari Gas Field)

Job scope: Management of Mechanical Maintenance activities within plant and off plant, co-ordination
with internal and external interfaces, provide essential support to field management in order to achieve
plant production targets through required plant availability, reliability and efficiency under the umbrella of
OMV group HSSE policies. Lead and train emergency response teams for the effective compliance of
Emergency Response Plan.

Responsibilities:
• Lead Plant Mechanical Maintenance to maximize plant availability & reliability so that sales gas
volumes and quality targets are met.
• Liaison/negotiations with OEM, OEM representatives and OEM contractors for managing
reliability and long-term maintenance regime of critical rotating equipment including
GE,SOLAR,NP, ARIEL,DRESSER RAND, GE WAUKESHA, GE SUPERIOR, GE CAMERON and
CATERPILLER.
• Plan, organize and control of routine mechanical maintenance jobs in co-ordination with
Production and Planning in order to intact the smooth functioning of machineries to meet the
production targets efficiently.
• Manage Production Critical Equipment records related to condition monitoring, failure histories
analysis, trends, and vibration analysis to develop condition based maintenance plans, execution
strategy in order to ensure asset integrity.
• Manage workshop activities including overhauling of various size manual ball valves, shutdown
blow down valves and pressure safety valves as per industry best practices.
• Maintain coordination with Engineering & Project to ensure timely completion of field level
engineering changes (“Field Work”), up-gradation and modifications.
• Prepare and optimize mechanical CAPEX and OPEX to meet the long & short term maintenance
objectives of processing plant and associated sub-surface facilities.
• Provide support to Maintenance Superintendent to monitor and control Mechanical department’s
key operational expenses to ensure maintenance costs remain budgeted.
• Coordinate with warehouse to ensure the optimum level of relevant inventories meeting the
technical specs should remain available for routine and non-routine requirements.
• Effective utilization of CMMS (MAXIMO/SAP) for mechanical assignments and respective
inventory management to meet budget targets and to further optimize maintenance regimes.
• Develop outsourcing protocols and liaison/negotiations with the associated OEMs and
contractors.
• Involve in the selection of related site contractors for different type of mechanical activities.
• Develop, build and maintain site contractor management and remain in contact with HSSE
policies.
• Lead entire mechanical team (permanent and contractors). Ensure the staffing must be carried
out as per skills and the job requirement.
• Identify gaps within the team to suggest training needs and their annual appraisal as per their
contribution and commitment.
Related to Turn Around
• Provide complete data/record and inputs to Planning section and Field Management to plan turn
around and major equipment overhauls.
• Ensure mechanical assignments completion within allocated budget, time frame without LTI (Lost
Time Injury).
Related to HSSE Management System
• Responsible to execute all the mechanical activities should comply OMV group and applicable
HSSE policies, laws and regulations.
• Lead emergency teams as Emergency Team Leader to handle emergencies as per Emergency
Response Plan.
• Conduct scenario based emergency drills with HSSE coordination to develop teams to make
effective emergency response preparations.
• Ensure the skilled power aware of respective jobs HSE requirements and must have HSSE
authorities to execute the job via OMV PTW system.
• Identification of Safety Critical Elements in line with OMV EP HSSE guidelines and designated
Performance Standard.
• Participate in risk assessment studies like HAZOPs, HAZID, and JSAs.
• Participate in investigations of incidents and equipment failure to find root cause and
recommendations to avoid re-occurrence.
• Develop; review Maintenance site work instructions in coordination with procedures, standards
and policies.
• Ensure mechanism of testing, verification and certification of mechanical tools, lifting
gears/equipment, cranes must remain in contact.

work permits, working at height, confined space entry, scaffolding, machine safety and likewise

Key Achievements within OMV Tenure:
• Completed six major turn-around (2010-2015)
• Completed level III (replacement) of GE & SOLAR turbines, Level II (HSE/HGP) of GE and all
types of overhauls of GE-WAUKESHA, CAT & GE-Superior engines and compressors GE-NP,
DREESER RAND, ARIEL and GE-Cameron.
• Effectively participated in SOLAR turbine FAT and identified major causes of chronic failure of the
machine.
• Identified and rectified chronic high cylinder temperature issue of one of WAUKESHA and one GE
Superior engine hence contributing to significant production loss minimization.
• Developed and trained teams with local resources and enhanced their skills for special technical
jobs
• Developed and lead multidiscipline team for dealing with troubleshooting of production critical
units of Miano wellhead compressors.

Job scope: Responsibility to lead a team of technical personnel including a Sub Engineer,
Technicians, Welders, Fabricators and Riggers to ensure the successful Preventive/ Shut down
maintenance of all the stationary / rotary equipment installed on the plant.
Responsibilities:
• Timely spare parts ordering of all the stationary and rotary equipment installed at the plant for
their smooth operation, and to review vendors and suppliers quotations to determine best price
and delivery date.
• Support for all corrective and preventive maintenance activities of installed equipment.
Implementation of maintenance plan in efficient and effective manner.
• Maintenance of all different type of Valves & PSVs installed at the plant.
• Review Improvements to the existing facilities, modifications, up gradation and efficiency
enhancement. Reviewing the design, technical specifications for the modifications of the existing
facilities.
• Review arrangements for efficient and timely execution of projects meeting the company goals.
Coordinate with operation and maintenance team of existing facilities.
• Working with the Senior Inventory and CMMS Specialist for the development of the Oracle
maintenance management system and all related documentation including planned maintenance
routines, risk assessments, isolation procedures, etc.
• Preparing, execution and maintaining the history record of preventive maintenance programs for
all equipment (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly & yearly).
• Prepare annual maintenance budget of plant spares and general items of plant and monitor all
expenses to ensure that maintenance service is provided within approved budget.
• Developing complete equipment / product specifications for procurement of spares and technical
evaluation in view of specifications by making use of ASTM/ASME/ASNI/API and Safety
Standards on daily basis at plant.
• Prepare, update and review job plans, work instruction and procedures so that up-to-date
guidance and procedural coverage is available to all concerned.

• Analyze all failures on the plant, establish root cause and take measures to avoid re-occurrence.
• Identification and review of spares, consumables, materials, tools and other necessary resources
required to maintain all installed equipment.
• Co-ordination with Production Department for operation and shut down of the different units.

• Vigilantly planned directed, coordinated and supervised Annual Turn around 2008&2009 of
Pakarab Fertilizers Limited.
• Prepared and finalized shutdown jobs list joint with operation and supporting departments
• Worked out in calculation of material, equipments spares, tools, plant consumables and other
• Procurement of all the above said material from Foreign as well as Local Suppliers.
• Resource Management (cranes, scaffolding, insulation etc required in the execution of
turnaround.
• Procurement of Materials and Spares were made from local and foreign agencies well ahead from
actual execution of turnaround
• Shutdown activities were carried out according to plan and all jobs were accomplished in job list
and plant started timely and smoothly.

3.0 ESBI UCH Power Station (CC 586 MW)
3.1: Mechanical Engineer (TS) July 2006-Mar 2008
Job scope: Management of mechanical integrity of rotating equipment including gas turbines, steam
turbine and boiler feed-water pumps using rotary equipment reliability and performance software.
Strategic planning of turbine overhaul programs and GE contract performance review.
Responsibilities:
• Developing and maintaining reliability programs for on line condition monitoring with potential risk
assessment of critical equipment to minimize downtime or unexpected forced outage, using latest
on line monitoring and predictive technologies such as vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermal
scans, process control limits with excursion information.
• Basis on equipment condition/histories and costs providing input to production and maintenance
annual plans, budgets as well as to capital replacement and upgrade projects in order to attain
required future availability and reliability levels.
• Investigating Operation/Maintenance related problems and suggesting viable alternatives to plant
equipment or procedures modifications to assure plant safety, efficiency and environmental
compliance.
• Monitoring plant thermal performance and suggesting viable means of improving performance.
• Providing engineering expertise in the design, application, operation, inspection and maintenance
of rotating equipment, pressure piping and vessels.
• Coordinating with Operations for Scheduled Outages planning.
• Administrating plant information technology systems and software like CMMS, Safety Work
Permit system, and AutoCAD etc.
• Preparing departmental budget and as well providing input to annual operating plan & budget for
the complex.
• Managing storage and retrieval of Engineering Records, Drawings, and Documentation and
updating of Design changes to meet insurance audits and site requirements.
• Other duties as and when assigned by the Line Manager.
Related to Turn Around

• Worked with GE planning team from ESBI side for major overhauling (MI-2006) and combustion
inspection (CI-2007) of 03 numbers of gas turbines. Prepared and finalized miscellaneous
shutdown jobs list joint with operation department.
Related to Safety
• Lead by example and demonstrate through their actions that QHSE policy compliance is a line
management responsibility, thus promoting a QHSE aware culture within their department.
• Monitor and conduct work activities in such a way as to ensure QHSE policy compliance, and to
impart the same philosophy onto staff in their department.
• Incorporate QHSE as a key part of their regular team briefings and meetings, and incorporate
QHSE performance objectives in the staff performance review system.
• Ensure adherence to legislation and company QHSE requirements (Policies, Procedures,
Manuals Emergency Response Plans and all other IMS documentation) by all staff and
contractors, and develop local procedures specific to work activities.
• Implement and enforce Risk Assessment Process with all staff and ensure correctional
requirements identified are executed.
• Ensure that the accident and incident notification and investigation procedures are adhered to.

4.0 AES LALPIR Thermal Power Station (365X2 MW)
4.1: Mechanical Engineer July 2005-July 2006
Job scope: Perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools, rotating machines, and other
mechanically functioning equipment. Installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of such
equipment as feed water and steam systems. Playing role is mechanical section as the mechanical
maintenance engineer, responsible for routine, preventative and corrective maintenance of a thermal
power plant including steam turbine, boiler and balance of plant.
Responsibilities:
• Steam turbines (MHI) major / minor maintenance, up gradations, scheduled maintenance (MI)
planning.
• Outages coordination, planning, resource management, execution, post outage evaluation
through KPIs. Development of master schedules for Steam turbines, Feed water System
• Development of maintenance budgets, forecasting and tracking.
• Development of cost effective maintenance strategies for the stationary and rotary equipment to
increase equipment/systems reliability applying RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) RCA
(Root Cause Analysis) and condition monitoring techniques.
• Job Risk Assessment and development of JHAS (job hazards analysis sheet) and WHIS (work
hazards identification sheet).
• Predictive maintenance of the plant’s rotary equipments using ‘CSI Machinery Health
Management Platform’.
Related to Turn Around
• TA-2005: Worked in the team of Turnaround Engineers and was responsible for Turbine area TA
jobs mainly including overhauling of multistage boiler feed water pump train, associated valves,
condenser and heaters. Apart from routine TA jobs, looked after the HSE aspects of the
contractors hired for the turn-around execution.

Responsibilities: • Lead Plant Mechanical Maintenance to maximize plant availability & reliability so that sales gas volumes and quality targets are met. • Liaison/negotiations with OEM, OEM representatives and OEM contractors for managing reliability and long-term maintenance regime of critical rotating equipment including GE,SOLAR,NP, ARIEL,DRESSER RAND, GE WAUKESHA, GE SUPERIOR, GE CAMERON and CATERPILLER. • Plan, organize and control of routine mechanical maintenance jobs in co-ordination with Production and Planning in order to intact the smooth functioning of machineries to meet the production targets efficiently. • Manage Production Critical Equipment records related to condition monitoring, failure histories analysis, trends, and vibration analysis to develop condition based maintenance plans, execution strategy in order to ensure asset integrity. • Manage workshop activities including overhauling of various size manual ball valves, shutdown blow down valves and pressure safety valves as per industry best practices. • Maintain coordination with Engineering & Project to ensure timely completion of field level engineering changes (“Field Work”), up-gradation and modifications. • Prepare and optimize mechanical CAPEX and OPEX to meet the long & short term maintenance objectives of processing plant and associated sub-surface facilities. • Provide support to Maintenance Superintendent to monitor and control Mechanical department’s key operational expenses to ensure maintenance costs remain budgeted. • Coordinate with warehouse to ensure the optimum level of relevant inventories meeting the technical specs should remain available for routine and non-routine requirements. • Effective utilization of CMMS (MAXIMO/SAP) for mechanical assignments and respective inventory management to meet budget targets and to further optimize maintenance regimes. • Develop outsourcing protocols and liaison/negotiations with the associated OEMs and contractors. • Involve in the selection of related site contractors for different type of mechanical activities. • Develop, build and maintain site contractor management and remain in contact with HSSE policies. • Lead entire mechanical team (permanent and contractors). Ensure the staffing must be carried out as per skills and the job requirement. • Identify gaps within the team to suggest training needs and their annual appraisal as per their contribution and commitment. Related to Turn Around • Provide complete data/record and inputs to Planning section and Field Management to plan turn around and major equipment overhauls. • Ensure mechanical assignments completion within allocated budget, time frame without LTI (Lost Time Injury). Related to HSSE Management System • Responsible to execute all the mechanical activities should comply OMV group and applicable HSSE policies, laws and regulations. • Lead emergency teams as Emergency Team Leader to handle emergencies as per Emergency Response Plan. • Conduct scenario based emergency drills with HSSE coordination to develop teams to make effective emergency response preparations. • Ensure the skilled power aware of respective jobs HSE requirements and must have HSSE authorities to execute the job via OMV PTW system. • Identification of Safety Critical Elements in line with OMV EP HSSE guidelines and designated Performance Standard. • Participate in risk assessment studies like HAZOPs, HAZID, and JSAs. • Participate in investigations of incidents and equipment failure to find root cause and recommendations to avoid re-occurrence. • Develop; review Maintenance site work instructions in coordination with procedures, standards and policies. • Ensure mechanism of testing, verification and certification of mechanical tools, lifting gears/equipment, cranes must remain in contact. 2

Responsibilities: • Timely spare parts ordering of all the stationary and rotary equipment installed at the plant for their smooth operation, and to review vendors and suppliers quotations to determine best price and delivery date. • Support for all corrective and preventive maintenance activities of installed equipment. Implementation of maintenance plan in efficient and effective manner. • Maintenance of all different type of Valves & PSVs installed at the plant. • Review Improvements to the existing facilities, modifications, up gradation and efficiency enhancement. Reviewing the design, technical specifications for the modifications of the existing facilities. • Review arrangements for efficient and timely execution of projects meeting the company goals. Coordinate with operation and maintenance team of existing facilities. • Working with the Senior Inventory and CMMS Specialist for the development of the Oracle maintenance management system and all related documentation including planned maintenance routines, risk assessments, isolation procedures, etc. • Preparing, execution and maintaining the history record of preventive maintenance programs for all equipment (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly & yearly). • Prepare annual maintenance budget of plant spares and general items of plant and monitor all expenses to ensure that maintenance service is provided within approved budget. • Developing complete equipment / product specifications for procurement of spares and technical evaluation in view of specifications by making use of ASTM/ASME/ASNI/API and Safety Standards on daily basis at plant. • Prepare, update and review job plans, work instruction and procedures so that up-to-date guidance and procedural coverage is available to all concerned. 3

Strategic planning of turbine overhaul programs and GE contract performance review. Responsibilities: • Developing and maintaining reliability programs for on line condition monitoring with potential risk assessment of critical equipment to minimize downtime or unexpected forced outage, using latest on line monitoring and predictive technologies such as vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermal scans, process control limits with excursion information. • Basis on equipment condition/histories and costs providing input to production and maintenance annual plans, budgets as well as to capital replacement and upgrade projects in order to attain required future availability and reliability levels. • Investigating Operation/Maintenance related problems and suggesting viable alternatives to plant equipment or procedures modifications to assure plant safety, efficiency and environmental compliance. • Monitoring plant thermal performance and suggesting viable means of improving performance. • Providing engineering expertise in the design, application, operation, inspection and maintenance of rotating equipment, pressure piping and vessels. • Coordinating with Operations for Scheduled Outages planning. • Administrating plant information technology systems and software like CMMS, Safety Work Permit system, and AutoCAD etc. • Preparing departmental budget and as well providing input to annual operating plan & budget for the complex. • Managing storage and retrieval of Engineering Records, Drawings, and Documentation and updating of Design changes to meet insurance audits and site requirements. • Other duties as and when assigned by the Line Manager. Prepared and finalized miscellaneous shutdown jobs list joint with operation department. Installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of such equipment as feed water and steam systems. Playing role is mechanical section as the mechanical maintenance engineer, responsible for routine, preventative and corrective maintenance of a thermal power plant including steam turbine, boiler and balance of plant.
