PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Kalpa Vriksh (Temp. Accommodations – Tents, Cottages, Dorms and Café in Kumbh Mela 2019) May 2018 – March 2019
Assistant Business Analyst
• Explored and collected data from the previous Kumbh Melas and organizations involved in the trade
• Assessed/processed the data to estimate a net revenue of approximate $500,000, with an approximate investment of $200,000 in a 2-month project
• Designed the layout for the project taking into consideration water management, power grid, transportation network, communication network,
administrative services, and social spaces
Wipro Limited June 2017 – July 2017
Project Trainee
• Assisted on the project, consisting of 10 members, which was responsible for restoring retrieve data from an old database, processing it,
removing unnecessary data and backing it up in a new database
• Coded tools required by the project team to accomplish tasks such as rectifying file names and formats before uploading on their database
• Analyzed data collectively with other team members, processed the files and uploaded them on the database
Motilal Nehru Institute of Technology November 2017 – December 2017
Research Intern
• Researched on Graphical Databases and how they were used in the Panama Paper Investigation
• Accessed the various benefits of using Graphical Database over Relational Databases
• Collaborated with Professor Divya Kumar on a research paper justifying the various benefits of Graphical Databases along with its
applications as well as shortcomings
ACTIVITIES
Project Member at Association of Computing Machinery (ACM-UIUC) Present
• Coded in Java and C++ in the weekly programming contest, Illinois Programming League (IPL) conducted by the International Collegiate
Programming Contest (ICPC-UIUC), having to complete 5-7 questions in a period of 2 hours
• Participated in a weekly hour-long workshop and discussion on Machine Learning Algorithms and their applications held by the Association of
Data Science and Analytics (ADSA-UIUC)
• Brainstormed project ideas with students from various majors and background and worked toward implementing them.
Member of Illini Statistics Club Present
• Attended seminars by accomplished Researchers and Professors from the field of Statistics. Interacted with the statisticians on a one-on-one basis
to discuss certain ideas and concepts that hover around my mind.
• Discussed relevant concepts with fellow students to develop a deeper understanding of the subject
• Brainstormed ideas about future possibilities in the field of Data Science and Statistics with fellow students, faculty members and advisors.
Internship Program at CERN Laboratory April 2015 – May 2015
• Attended lectures and seminars by scientists and experts at the top of their fields.
• Attended workshops designed to explain the concepts being explored at CERN and categorize, discard and analyze the data collected by the CMS
experiments of the Large Hadron Collider.
• Inspired by the collection, processing and analysis of data to pursue a career in Computer Science.
PROJECTS
• Accelerometer Data Classification: Used k-means clustering to generate a set of feature vectors from accelerometer data using vector
quantization; Classified into 14 activity classes using SVM [Python]
• Classifying Handwritten Digits: Used Convolutional Neural Networks to classify handwritten digits with a 94% accuracy [Python]
• Classifying Handwritten Digits: Implemented Naïve Bayes Algorithm to classify handwritten digits with a 87% accuracy [Java]
• OCR: Implemented an OCR which processes and reads text from a .jpeg or .png file and stores it; Implemented a GUI to provide an interface to
select the files in various ways, read and display the text, implemented a text editor to edit the text and then help save it [C++, openframeworks]
• SushiGo: Implemented the Game of SushiGo on the computer and created an interactive GUI for playing the game. Also, implemented an AI
Player for the game which beats the Random Player at least 9 out of 10 times [C++, openframeworks]
• Home Value Valley Project: Along with a group of 9 students, used Pycharm, and Plotly to visualize the variation of house prices (excluding
taxes) with geographic locations of New York, San Francisco, Washington DC and Santa Monica and analyze the trends with factors such as
location, population, reputation, and crime rate [Python]
• Database Tools: Implemented tools capable of reading files from one database, changing them to the correct format, checking and correcting the
file name and uploading it in a new database, reducing manual labor and time for task completion from a month to 5 days [Java]
• Classifying Crop Types from Rapid Eye Satellite Image: Used k-nearest neighbors, Polynomial Regression, Support Vector Machine, and
Random Forest to train my model on the image of the Southern part of Champaign and the Crop Data Layer (CDL) map from United States
Department of Agriculture (USDA) and then classified using the image for the Northern part of Champaign with 84% accuracy [Python]
