• Developing
an
Android
application
which
supports
peer
to
peer
textbook
exchange
and
provides
a
social
platform
for
peers
to
connect
to
each
other.
• Working
on
the
User
Interface
to
enhance
the
UX
of
the
application
• Adapting
from
the
iOS
app
MyBeeble
to
Android
platform
so
as
to
increase
the
user
base.
• Worked
with
Amazon
API
to
increase
the
book
library
to
attract
more
customers.
Academic
Projects
Multimedia
Data
Indexing
and
Retrieval
Fall
2014
• Developed
an
efficient
indexing
and
retrieval
data
scheme
for
a
spatio-‐temporal,
time-‐series
data.
The
dataset
working
on
an
epidemic
simulation
datasets
across
all
the
states
of
USA
over
a
period
of
seven
months.
• Reduced
the
number
of
features
of
the
high-‐dimensional
dataset
using
Latent
Semantic
analysis
by
performing
techniques
like
SVD
and
LDA.
• Optimized
the
search
time
by
implementing
indexing
tools
like
VA-‐filters
and
Locality
Sensitive
Hashing.
Reduced
the
search
time
by
upto
80
percent
due
by
using
the
above
indexing
tools.
Used
Matlab
for
the
entire
project.
Geometric
Operations
on
Geospatial
Data
Spring
2015
• Performed
spatial
join
and
range
queries,
polygon
union
and
extracted
convex
hull
of
large
data
consisting
of
polygons
• Set
up
a
distributed
system
of
nodes
to
divide
the
work
among
master
and
slaves
and
implemented
map
reduce
paradigm.
Accessed
and
stored
data
using
HDFS.
• Setup
cluster
using
Hadoop
2.6.0
and
Spark
1.2.0.
Reduced
response
time
by
80%
when
setup
a
cluster
of
five
nodes
as
compared
to
single
node
system.
Online
Banking
Application
Spring
2014
• Developed
an
online
banking
application
using
a
Service
Oriented
Architecture
Software
Design.
• Developed
individual
services
like
handling
accounts,
mobile
notifications,
finding
nearest
banking
locations,
etc.
• Developed
in
C#
using
.NET
framework
including
XML,
JSON
parsing,
Session
states,
Google
API.
Chicken
Farm
application
(Distributed
Service
Development,
Service
Oriented
Architecture)
Spring
2014
• Developed
a
service
that
allows
a
number
of
retailers
to
place
orders
and
the
chicken
farm
processes
these
applications
in
an
orderly
fashion.
• The
orders
are
placed
by
a
synchronized
access
to
a
global
data
structure
that
contains
orders.
These
orders
are
encrypted
and
sent
over
to
the
chicken
farm
where
it
is
decrypted
before
processing
the
order.
• Used
C#
on
a
.NET
framework
to
develop
this
service.
Based
on
SOA.
Twitter
Sentiment
Analysis
(https://github.com/viswanth/Twitter-‐Sentiment-‐Analysis)
Summer
2014
• Extract
real
time
tweets
from
Twitter
and
analyse
the
sentiments
of
the
tweet.
• Used
to
predict
the
trending
tweets
on
Twitter
and
also
to
analyse
the
mood
of
the
people
in
a
particular
geographical
region
based
on
their
tweets.
• Used
Python
to
work
with
the
Twitter
API
and
extract
information
out
of
the
JSON
provided
by
Twitter

Tidy
Dataset
(https://github.com/viswanth/TidyData)
Summer
2014
• The
purpose
of
this
project
is
to
collect,
work
with,
and
clean
a
raw
dataset.
• The
raw
dataset
worked
upon
here
is
a
multivariate
time-‐series
built
from
the
recordings
of
30
subjects
performing
daily
life
activities
while
carrying
waist-‐mounted
smart
phone.
• Extracting
the
useful
information,
summarising
the
data
in
a
clean
independent
tidy
data
that
is
created.
Custom
Kernel
Module
for
Communication
Fall
2014
• Downloaded
and
compiled
the
Linux
Kernel
source
code
so
I
can
add
my
custom
module
to
the
Kernel.
• My
custom
module
will
communicate
with
other
modules
created
by
other
students
in
the
class.
Full
duplex
communication
via
iPv4
achieved
by
replacing
the
standard
socket
interface
used
by
most
network
programs.
• Implemented
logical
clock
in
the
module
to
have
a
time
ordering
of
the
messages.
Entire
class
used
the
same
protocol
number
to
allow
communication
with
each
other.
