2. Project Summary
Organization: C-DAC, Bangalore (7 months)
Project: Spatio-Temporal analysis using Association Rule Mining Feb 2016 to Aug 2016
• This was a research project which is focused on user’s movement with features like latitude,
longitude of a particular location on a specific day and time. With the help of these features
different pattern of user movement can be collected and analyzed.
Role: Data Science intern
Big Data Technologies Used: Python (data pre-processing and machine learning), DB Browser
for SQLite 3.10.1 , R for visualization.
Purpose of the Project: The overall goal of the project is to analyze a large dataset containing
geo-spatial and temporal values i.e. Latitude, Longitude, altitude, timestamp and date. Further
by association rule mining or Apriori algorithm we will determine what are the most visited
areas in any arbitrary point of time.

Project: BT Global Services Aug 2016 to Nov 2017
• This is a big data project which works for NMS (Network Management System) for British
Telecom by analyzing network about BT services.
• Using the technology of the Hadoop framework and making use of knowledge form the
field of machine learning, a prototype for detecting subscribers of particular interest is
developed. Call Detail Records (CDR) generated by the operator, for charging purposes, as
input. From them a graph in created and social network analysis metrics are determined for
each subscriber. A training set is provided to create a decision model to classify subscribers.
• Data for 2.4 million subscribers and about a month of time were analysed.
Role: Data Engineer
Big Data Technologies Used: HDFS, Hive, Pig, Sqoop, Jasper server, Neo4j graph database.
Purpose of the Project: Project aims to provide big data analytics solution to BT in U.K. and
round the globe. To provide TSO (Technology and Service Operations) team to leverage the
power of predictive analytics and real time insights to carry game changing business
transformation.
Responsibilities:
• Processing of data using Pig scripts and aggregation of data using Sqoop.
• Breaking data into buckets using HQL and create external Hive tables.
• Successfully loading files to Hive and HDFS from MySQL using Spark.
