EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
1987 – 1994. I was employedbyQuilpie Shire CouncilasRoadworksForemanandthenasWorks
Supervisor.Iwasaccountable forjobsupervisionincludingMainRoadsmaintenance andconstruction
and managingapproximately70staff.Thisinvolvedmanyaspectsincludingcomputeriseddata
managementforprojectscheduling,andequipment,materialsandbudgetmonitoring,liasingwith
seniormanagementandstaff training.Iwasalsothe Workplace HealthandSafetyOfficeratQuilpie and
was responsible forthe developmentandimplementationof CouncilsSafetyPolicyandManual.I was
alsoheavilyinvolvedinthe developmentandimplementation of CouncilsQualityPolicyandManual.
1994 to 1997. I wasemployedbyPeakDownsShire Council asConstructionSupervisorandQuality
Assurance Officer.InthispositionIsupervisedCouncilstaff involvedincontractsundertakenfor
miningcompaniesinthe Shire.Thisincludedmajoraccessroadsand alsothe developmentof the
OakyCreekNorthundergroundcoal mine.
I developedthe QualityAssurance manual andproceduresinaccordance withISO9002 Road
ConstructioninLocal Governmentandimplementeditthroughoutthe departmentincludingstaff
training,auditingandliaisingwithseniormanagement,whichenabledCouncil tobecome
prequalifiedtoR1 Standardfor QueenslandTransportroad-workscontracts.
1997 to 1999. I wasemployedbyW.K.Civil asProjectSupervisor.Projectsincludedsub-divisions,
road-works,storm-water,sewerage,utilitiesandcar-parkprojects.Iwasresponsiblefor
estimations,workingwithinbudgetrequirements,staff trainingandsupervision.
1999 to 2007. DuringthisperiodIwas self employedasownerof anearthmovingcompany.From8
yearsas a self employedcontractorundertakingsite andprojectmanagementof variousprojects
includingGolf Course Construction,Sub-Divisions,Car-ParksandRoad-works,Ibringextensive
experience inthe planningof worksprograms;workinginaccordance withCouncil policiesand
procedures,constructionindustryrequirementsinrelationtoenvironmental issuesandlegislation,
site investigationsandestimations.MajorprojectsundertakenasPrincipal Contractorincludeda56
lotsub-division atTinCan Bay anda 43 lotSub-divisionatKingaroy.
2008 to 2009. I wasemployedbyCarpentariaShire Council asWorksSupervisor,satisfyingadesire
to once again be involvedwithLocal Governmentoperations.Iwasresponsibleforthe management
of Council’sstaff andextensive fleetonvariousprojectsincludingRoadtekConstruction,R.M.P.C.,
FloodDamage and maintenance operations.Council’sfleetincluded5graders,associated
compactionequipment,watertrucks,tippers,triple road-train,miscellaneousequipmentand
around30 permanentoutsidestaff.We alsoutilisedcontractorswhichincluded4graders,12xtriple
road-trains,loaders,excavators,scrapersanddozers.
I was alsoresponsible forflooddamage,assessments,submissionsandrectification.
Sept2009. I wascontracted toFlindersShire Council tosupervise constructionof 5kmof Flinders
Highway.Thisprojectconsistedof reconstructionandoverlayof existingpavement.Italsoincluded
repairof four RCC culvertsandreplacementof fourRCPculverts.
Dutiesincludeddailysupervision,procurementandmaintenance of QualitySystems.Thisproject
was completedontime enablingCouncil toopenhighwayoverthe Christmasperiod.
2010. AftermovingtoToowoombainJanuary2010 for familyreasons,Iwasemployedbyalocal
companyinvolvedincivilconstructionandthe Coal SeamGas operations.
My dutiesincludedsupervisionandthe operationof gradersandtrucks whenrequired.
2010 to September2013.
Duringthistime I wasemployedbyOriginEnergyasTrafficand TransportAdvisor.Thisposition
entailedawide range of responsibilitieswhichincludedbutwere notlimitedtothe following:
• Monitoringconditionsof roadsimpactedonbyDrillingandPipelinetraffic;
• DevelopingandmaintainingaRoadRegisterforthe whole of the projectincludingWestern
