Project #1: ISCSI STORAGE QUALIFICATION
Role: Storage QA
Environment: ESX 5.5u2 and SAN Storage.
Tools used: IOzone and IOmeter.
VMware ESX is an virtualization product. Virtualization is the technology where we can run multiple
virtual servers on a single physical server as a GOS (Guest OS) and iSCSI Storage will gives us the
flexibility to use it as a SAN to get all the vSphere Testing features like Vmotion, SVMotion, HA and
DRS. These features are only possible when there is a shared SAN. Involved in test bed preparation
and creating iSCSI luns. Configuring iSCSI software initiator in ESX Server and discovering those luns
in ESX. Involved in functional testing of iSCSI Storage and the ESX server .The main aim is to qualify
the Storage with respect to ESX Server.
Responsibilities
• Configuring different RAID levels.
• Installing and configuring ESX servers, virtual center.
• Creating iSCSi LUNs and mapping them to ESX servers.
• Creating VMs, installing the operating system and IO applications. Worked on all VMware features

configuring iSCSI initiators in both windows and Linux platforms. The features tested are creating
Raid volumes and iSCSI Luns.
