As Master (ship captain) I was in overall command of each vessel ensuring the performance of all
daily operations. I insured that all legal and company standards were adhered to in both the vessel
and the crew. I was responsible for the safety of the crew, vessel and cargo paying particular
attention to environmental issues. I insured compliance with national and international laws and
regulations. I insured that my officers are performing safe navigations during sea passages as well as
cargo operations in the ports. I insured the development of a sense of teamwork and responsibility in
collaboration with the officers and rattings. I insured and assessed the seaworthy of the vessel and
whether any machinery on-board. I maintained all ship’s documentation and paperwork. I signed the
Bill of Lading for the cargoes carried as well as all other cargo related paperwork. I performed
numerous port state controls and oil/chemical major vetting inspections. I updated all business
parties concerned with vessel status, track, and control and was the link for the communication
between all.

3. As Chief Officer (Chief Mate) I was responsible for the safe carriage and handling of the cargoes on
board as wells as the maintenance of the all cargo gears. Cargo calculations and stability of the vessel
also were part of my job. I insured the maintenance of the hull, accommodation and all the equipment
on deck. I was the head of the deck department involved in navigation while on the sea passages. I
reported directly to the Captain and was the second in command to him, as one of the top four
management level officers.
