Vessel Experience
December 2014-Present Chief Officer DPO on NLV Pharos (3672GT,
5760KW) Rolls Royce Azi-Drive
-Line manager of Deck department with direct responsibility for 10 crew.
-Project manage loading and discharge of cargo (including DG and OOG) for
transfer to remote lighthouse stations via helicopter.
-Driving Mate; steering vessel whilst berthing and unberthing, taking vessel
in and out of DP.
January 2013-December 2014 2/O JDPO on NLV Pharos (3672GT,
5760KW) Rolls Royce Azi-Drive
-Bunkering and cargo transfer to island and rock lighthouses. This involved
acting as JDPO and HLO and ensuring all Dangerous Goods paperwork was
correctly filled in and processed.
-Undertaking ROV operations for the M.O.D on multiple contracts. Acting as
DPO whilst using General and Light Workclass ROVs.
November 2010-January 2013 2/O JDPO on NLV Pole Star (1174GT,
2760KW) Rolls Royce Azi-Drive
-Carried out statutory maintenance on Marine Aids to Navigation and
contract maintenance for Scottish Power. This involved positioning the
vessel using DP and carrying out onsite JHA/RA before completing a series
of Planned maintenance tasks on navigational buoys and their moorings.
-Muti-Beam Survey Operations for clients including The Scottish
Government and various Oil Majors. This work required use of the vessels
DP systems and multi-beam hydrographic survey suite. I acted as client
liaison and JDPO.

managing Dry Dock specs, driving mate, line manager of Deck Department,

2nd Officer Navigating with Reederei Blue Star ( Maersk Line)
July 2003– July 2010
My duties included, Ship’s Safety Officer –responsible for ensuring onboard
compliance with the vessel’s Safety Management System and the company’s
ISM procedures, all accident and incident investigations and reporting, carry-
ing out regular Health Safety and Environmental inspections of the vessel
and writing reports on the same with recommendations for improvements.
Passage Planning and administration-responsible for the safe planning and
execution of all passage plans onboard and correction of all charts and pub-
lications to ensure ISM compliance. Administrative duties including prepara-

4. tion of all required port arrival documents and management of certificate re-
newal.
Crew Training- ensuring all new crew members were adequately trained with
regards to hazardous materials and safe working practices onboard.
3rd Officer Navigating with P&ONedlloyd
January 2000-July 2003
After completing my cadetship with P&ONedlloyd I was employed as 3ON.
My duties included planning, controlling and recording all maintenance and
repair activities for lifesaving equipment, emergency signals and flags,
dangerous goods equipment and fire fighting equipment.
