Summer Of 83 Chapter 2 Summary
If you aren t willing to face your demons if you can t find the courage to take on your fear and
hurt and anger you might as well wrap them up with a bow and give them to your children.
Because they will be carrying the same thing...unless you are willing to do the work (Page 46).
In chapter 2 summer of 83 Dickey tells his traumatic rape stories. Dickey demonstrated a great
deal of fear and innocence. At the tender age of ten, R.A. was exposed to very explicit behaviour
numerous amounts of time. Dickey, being a child at the time, was not able to express himself out
of fear. The acts were so traumatic for such an innocent child that it left mental scars causing him
to fall into a deep depression. He was at a very vulnerable age during... Show more content on

He demonstrates great attentiveness to the game and builds his confidence by it. When Dickey
was in search of self awareness, he had little to no confidence in his pitches. He relied heavily on
his knuckle ball, but he could not throw it with demand; resulting in him letting up a lot of runs
and putting his career at jeopardy. Once Dickey turned to his Christian faith, he began to find
his self awareness that he was searching for and started to excel in his performance. Although he
did well, he wanted to be the best, so he paid attention to the game as a whole and realized that
one is only good as their last inning . With this thought in the back of his head he came to the
conclusion that he needs to learn from the mistakes he made in previous games rather than
dwelling on them. Also, he realized that the fans play a crucial part in the game, they know how
to get in the players head and make them feel for their mistakes, so having a rock hard
confidence is key, not only for the fans, but for big games like the playoffs as well. Dickey s new
found confidence is what put him on the map, winning him several accolades and a big contract.
Having a short term memory and a bulletproof confidence is what separates a minor leaguer from a

John Fitzgerald Kennedy Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your
country. This famous remark was given by John F. Kennedy when he delivered his inaugural

great deal of success. He was the 35th president of the United States and is remembered mainly for
his political success and his handsome and charismatic appearance (Encyclopedia Britannica). John

Essay about The Slave Trade and Britain Today
The Slave Trade and Britain Today The slave trade has no relevance in Britain today
It is difficult to agree with this statement, Britain hold a wide variety of race and for them and
their ancestor s slavery was only yesterday however For the British slavery is seen as being their
history. Within this essay I will explain the differences between race and racism, I will also include
the history of the slave trade and how it came about.

socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, geographic location. Traditional or chattel slavery (slave
trade) involves the buying and selling of people, they are often abducted from their homes,
inherited or given as gifts. (O Donnell 1992)
Its only the past hundred and fifty years or so that attempts have been made to put racism on a
scientific footing, before that discriminatory practices were usually justified or condemned on
religious beliefs, whites were seen as the offspring of Adam and Eve which in tern were classed as
the advantaged. (O Donnell 1992)
The roots of racial division lie within the expansion of the European empire during the eighteenth
and nineteenth centuries, after the Second World War the British Empireexpanded to the Far East
which is when the occupation of India, Pakistan and large parts of Africa along with several
islands in the West Indies took place. The exploitation of Africans (mainly West Africans) was a
key factor in laying the foundations for the future racial conflict. Slave traders were mainly from
Britain, Spain, France and Portugal; they kidnapped Africans and transported them to the southern
USA where they were forced to work on sugar, rum, tobacco and cotton plantations. (O Donnell
1992)

Socioeconomic Effects of Coffee Trade on the Ethiopian Farmer
Socioeconomic effects on farmers in a volatile Ethiopian coffee market and the promise of the Fair
Trade movement
Coffee and Ethiopia have shared a lengthy and highly tumultuous relationship. According to some,
their history dates back to the fifteenth century, but it is widely acknowledged that extensive trade
didn t begin until the late eighteenth century (Aregay 1988, 19). As world coffee consumption
skyrocketed in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, Ethiopia s economy grew increasingly
dependent on the industry. By the mid 1970 s, it s estimated that coffee accounted for a staggering
55% of all Ethiopian exports. This figure has since declined, and today it s estimated to be
somewhere around 35% (Daviron, Ponte 2005, 61 62). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This year he expects aound $60 for the coffee (Gresser, Tickell 2002, 42). Yet again, we are
faced with the unavoidable question: if the farmer is not making any money, the millers aren t
making any money and the exporters are not making any money, who is? To answer this, we
must look to the roasters and retailers: a group of five corporate giants who purchase over fifty
percent of the market s green coffee beans (Gresser, Tickell 2002, 27 28). Certain analysts have
estimated that Nestle earns up to 26% profit on all instant coffee sales (Luttinger, Dicum 2011,
131). The great disparity is made possible by the massive amounts of power these companies
possess. Though public perception of the companies has begun a move toward skepticism, it is
still largely positive. Corporations work to enormous lengths to ensure brand loyalty. For
example, instant coffee companies in the UK spent over $68 million on advertising in 1999.
Because they re aware that the public might not agree with their business practices, they work
relentlessly to ensure that we don t learn too much. Nestle is known for releasing intentionally
complex business records that often pool all of their beverage profits, which includes many non
coffee products, into one (Luttinger, Dicum 2011, 118). The end result is a farmer who can t
provide for his family after working day and night to produce a substantial crop. Not only does this

Migration And Racial Tension Of Australia
Migration and racial tension
I believe that the two topics that I have chosen relate to each other in many ways. The racial
tension came from the migrating races to Australia, and the issues that the Australians of the time
had with the new people . The migration occurred because there was a growing business in a new
country, there were more opportunities for trade and everyone wanted to try their luck on the gold
fields. I found the migrating story s from the Chinese to be more of an interesting theme. This is the
same with the racial tension, the mass groups of Chinese were the main targets with the racism.
Most migrants that came to Australia to grab a share of the gold rush, left behind family and home.
In traditional Chinese culture this was particularly difficult for them to come from a parent s heavy
focused family system, to an alien country to live.
The Chinese people that came to Australia were typically men brining there family over with
them to work for an income that would be big enough to support them. The wife however was
left at home to forfill the role of looking after her in laws in this time. The family would have to
work for them aswell, and send a percentage of there profit over.
As the population of chinses immergents started to climb, they were starting to become apart of
population statistics. If you were Chinese by birth and you were outside NSW, the governments of
the other states took advantage of you and made you pay a special reentry

How Ketchum Is A Small Town Of Northeast Oklahoma That Has...
Ketchum is a small town in northeast Oklahoma that has a present day population of 450
residents. Ketchum first became a town in 1899 and was named after a Delaware tribe member
named James Ketchum. The town was originally located in the northeast part of Mayes County,
close to James and his wife Elisabeth s home. However, in 1912 once the Kansas, OklahomaGulf
Railroad was expanded from Kansas to Texas the town was relocated. Residents moved the town
site to the southeastern part of Craig County sandwiched between Mayes County and Delaware
County to be near the railroad.
In 1803 part of the land that would someday become Ketchum was a small portion of the land that
was acquired through the Louisiana Purchase. This land was unsettled and deemed only suitable for
Indian relocation. In 1830 President Andrew Jackson signed The Indian Removal Act and all
Indians West of the Mississippi were forced to move to the Indian Territory. Once the tribes arrived
in Indian Territory they began to rebuild. The struggles to rebuild lasted many years and some
tribes never flourish as they once did. Many of the effects of the forced relocation are still felt
today. Because of the forced removal the Indians did not trust the federal government. When the
civil war began in 1861 many of the Indians sided with the confederates due to the lack of trust
they had with the federal government and many of the tribes fought alongside with the Confederate
army. Old Military Road was a road

Similarities Between Rama And Gilgamesh
The themes of myths speak to concerns for every human being. This shows that different cultures
are interconnected and share ideas. From reading the Epic of Gilgamesh we can begin to
understand the values help by ancient Mesopotamian society. By reading the Ramayana we can
analysis the religion and world view of Hinduism. Many ancient stories seem to parallel each other.
Although stories are written in diverse cultures, there tend to be likenesses, especially between the
protagonists. This is true with the stories of the Epic of Gilgameshand the Ramayana when it comes
to the depictions of their heros.
A hero is described as a figure who is recognized for their extraordinary accomplishments. Joseph
Campbell says all hero s follow a certain path. First, they go through a separation, then an initiation.
They go through an initiation to show their worth as a hero, then they return and are reintegrated
with society after learning a lesson. Hero s should also be relatable, which is why they often go
through crisis and failures. Even though they contrast each other, Rama from the Ramayana and
Gilgamesh from the Epic of Gilgamesh have similar archetypes of the hero.
The characters of Rama and Gilgamesh have multiple similarities that are shown in their stories.
Rama and Gilgamesh are both examples of Campbell s hero because they both go through
separation, initiation, return. To be considered a hero, the character must go on a quest and show
his heroic qualities. This is true in

Should Gas Prices Be Raised
If a person was asked a question such as Should taxes be raised? Their answer would most likely be
no way! The reasons why gas prices should not be raised is because if the price is raised then the
poor people will have a harder time paying for their house and bills, and by the way expanding
economy and cheaper oil makes more moneyfor the United States, and last if there is a smaller
price on gas then the demand for it will go down by a lot. First of all, it is very obvious that if
the prices go up for something, then people who do not have as much money are going to
struggle. If the prices go up for gas then the non wealthy people will probably have trouble
finding money to pay for their gas in their cars. Not only will they struggle with paying for their
gas, they will have distress in paying for their house and their bills. Imagine living in a governer
house with a few kids and a wife or a husband. Then all the sudden the gas prices go up about one
dollar! That family would not be happy at those changes. Then if they found out that the
government increased the prices only to reduce consumption, then they would definitely be in
rough scenario. Next, if America expanded their economy then that means more money. When they
say more money for America, then they mean a bunch more for the United States. They say that by

There is the reason that the needy or the non wealthier people in a community usually have a
harder time paying off their house bills or even getting to places like work for example. Also, it
will not only be better for the poor, but keeping gas prices lower it stimulates economic growth.
People will want to travel more and will want to spend their money on better and more important
things. Last, gas will be more accessible if the cost is declined. Raising the price of gasoline to
decrease consumption is a short term

Revenge In Hamlet And Othello
Across his many works, William Shakespeare commonly uses revenge not only as a motive for
individuals but as a driving force for the entire plot. This appears in both Hamlet, in which the
hero seeks revenge for the murder of his father, and Othello, in which the villain seeks revenge for
the promotion of the less qualified Michael Cassio. Though Shakespeare portrays these characters
conversely, their ends and means mirror each other. Readers can draw parallels between Prince
Hamletand Iago: they both have a desire for revenge, a meticulous methodology, and the intellect
needed to tie together their plans. Using their intellect, both Prince Hamlet and Iago form elaborate
plans, manipulate those around them, and, after much suffering, achieve their goals. At the
discovery of his father s murder, Hamlet quickly springs into planning how to revenge [King
Hamlet s] ... most unnatural murder and builds his plan around the opportunities presented by the
arrival of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, the play put on by the acting troupe, and young
Fortinbras desire to cross Denmark s borders (I.v.25). As Eric Levy, an emeritus professor at
University of British Columbia, writes, the mental awareness that Hamlet possesses eventually
exceeds his own unaided cognitive powers, causing the spiral of madness that ultimately brings the
play to its violent end (9). Before this madness overtakes him, however, Hamlet devises the plan to

Mass Spectrometry (Working Principle) What is mass spectrometry? According to the website

The Andrea Doria And The Collisions Of The Andrea Doria
The night of July 25, 1956 the Stockholm, a Swedish passenger liner, collided into the Andrea

Andrea Doria and five lives onboard the Stockholm. This was the world s first RADAR assisted
collision at sea (Halpern, 2008). However, the collision was not caused by a RADAR
malfunction. The collision was a result from the incompetence of the crew with the RADAR and
the overall misconduct of the crew. The fog was very dense around the Andrea Doria as it
traveled west at 267 degrees true with a speed of 21.8 knots (Halpern, 2008). The master of the
Andrea Doria, Captain Piero Calamai, made all preparations necessary for navigation in fog
(Halpern, 2008). This included additional lookouts on the bow and in the bridge, watertight doors
closed, extra men on standby in the engine room, and a fog whistle sounding. Once the Nantucket
lightship was detected on the RADAR dead ahead, Capt. Calamai ordered course change to 261
degrees to pass about a mile and half south of the light ship (Halpern, 2008). The Stockholm was
running at 18.5 knots eastbound toward the Nantucket Shoals lightship at 090 degrees true, in a

How Did Appeasement Cause Ww2
Appeasement, a foreign policy particularly prevalent in the period of time leading up until the
outbreak of World War Two, undoubtedly played a role in the ignition of the second world war,
however the extent if this role and the impact it had a cause for the war is debatable.
Appeasement was a policy employed as a preventative measure to stop the outbreak of war, at a
time when the horrors of the First World War were still affecting European society, and involved
making concessions to the opposition, in this case Adolf Hitlerand Nazi Germany. Whilst it is clear
that Appeasement was a failure as it did not manage to prevent the outbreak of another war,
some historians argue that it in fact was one of the causes of the war. This aspect of the debate
was ignited in 1961 by notable historian A.J.P. Taylor, when he asserted1 that the outbreak of
War in Europe in 1939 was as much the fault of the politicians of Europe and their persistence
with Appeasement, which gradually allowed Hitler and Nazi Germany more freedom then the
terms dictated in the Treaty of Versailles and eventually paved the way for militarization and the
outbreak of war, as it was in fact Nazi Germany s. The most commonly accepted views of
Appeasement are that of Historians such as Norman Rich who asserted2 that Nazi ideology and
Hitler s aggressive foreign policy made the outbreak of war unavoidable. However, to form a
conclusion about these debates, we must first understand the policy of Appeasement and its

Jackson joined the Confederacy and soon made his reputation as Stonewall Jackson at the First
Battle of Bull Run, also called Manassas. When his men were retreating he stood still while
enemy soldiers were firing at him. His troops saw him and one of them shouted quot; There is
Jackson standing like a stonewall. quot; Only then did his men have the courage to fight on and
eventually win. In 1862, in the Shenandoah valley Jackson earned international fame by defeating
60,000 Union soldiers with only 17,000 troops. After the campaign ended he went to help Robert E.
Lee in Richmond. He and Lee were very close to each other and knew each other like brothers.
Other battles Jackson fought in were The Seven Days Battles, Cedar Mountain, the Second Battle of
Bull Run, Antietam, and Fredericksburg.
Jackson fought his greatest battle in May 1863. He and his Second Corps struck the Union from
behind near Chancellorsville and defeated them. At nightfall is when tragedy struck.

Roman Road As A Direct Straight Forward Path
Roman Road is a direct straight forward path to the need of salvation.
As the scriptures say No one is righteous not even one (3:10). For everyone has sinned; we all fall
short of God s glorious standard (3:23). When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam s sin
brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned (5:12). For the wages of sin is
death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord (6:23). But God showed
his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners (5:8). If you openly
declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be
saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and ... Show more

In the society we live in today people are selfish and narsistic by nature. I believe it is because
the world has fallen away from God. While Jesus walked on this earth He served. Not only did
he serve the people he met but he served God. Having a servant mentality is putting someone
else s needs before your own. Serventhood begins by fullfiling a need of a person without
judgement and/or condemnation. It could be as easy as preparing a meal for a family who has
just welcomed a baby into the family or cleaning the yard of a person who is unable to do it
themselves. When a persons needs are being met it opens their heart and mind to the reasoning
behind the act. Mission trips are also a great way of serving. Not all missions are done in other
countries, they can be done in your town just as easy as abroad. The purpose in a mission is serve
a group of people on behalf of God.
An Advantage would be that a person is able to have their needs met while also witnessing the
love of Jesus. The idea behind servanthood would be to establish a relationship. Earning the trust of
the person by simply showing that their needs matter and deserve to be met. An advantage of
serving would be inviting a nonbeliever to join you on a mission trip. The thought of travel often
times is enough to get a person interested, in turn the Holy Spirit will utilize the servanthood to
pour into the heart of a nonbeliever that may not be possible in their own back yard.

The Revenge Tragedy Of Hamlet Essay
Issara Butt
Professor Abbott
English 102
November 30, 2016
The Revenge Tragedy of Hamlet Revenge tragedies share some common characteristics of the
play Hamlet which classify them in the group of many great stories such as The Spanish
Tragedy, and King Lear. A vengeful ghost, a play within a play, and the main character who
seeks revenge on an opponent and murdered (KAY). At some point in life many of us feel the
need to seek revenge and never actually act upon it, but what if we did? What would be the
consequences and what would life be like afterwards. The thoughts we have of this makes the
stories of revenge tragedies exciting and intriguing. They are our thoughts written on paper and into
a story making as if what we think is actually happening. In the time of Shakespearean writing,
things would have gone slightly different. The play Hamlet, is a prime example of a revenge
tragedy in its refined state of written speech. Hamlet is a revenge tragedy for many reasons, not
only that but it is the most written, re enacted, and read play of all time (TUMIEL). The multiple
plots of revenge, murders, and ghost appearances makes Hamlet the leading play of revenge
tragedies and most studied currently in academic curriculums. It is believed to be that William
Shakespeare s Hamlet was based off of Thomas Kyd s story, Ur Hamlet (MABILLARD). Although
Ur Hamlet was a rough and uncut version of a revenge tragedy and needed further developing, but
Shakespeare s Hamlet is well refined,

Say Yes To The Dress Attribution Theory
Reality TV Show Assignment In Say Yes to the Dress Season 14 Episode 7, attribution theory is
visible. When the third bride in this episode comes into Kleinfeld for a fitting, her grandmother
is disappointed by how revealing her granddaughter s wedding dress is. To compensate for being
offended by her grandmother s rudeness, the bride incorporates attribution theory. In doing so, she
gives an explanation of her grandmother s actions by saying it is due to her grandmother s age
and very conservative personality. Rather than seeing her grandmother as rude, the bride justifies
her behavior using the attribution theory. The second bride in this episode of Say Yes to the Dress
wants nothing more than to look like BeyoncГ© on her wedding day, describing herself as bride
yoncГ©. Due to her attitude, the bride continuously compares every dress she tries on to

company founders personally transported cargo documents from San Francisco to Honolulu by
plane thereby it significantly reduced waiting times in the harbor. Customers saved a great deal
of time as a result. The founding of DHL also represented the creation of a new sector of
industry: international air express service rapid transport of documents and cargo papers by
plane. The company started their expansion in 70 s, it started from Philippines (1971) then japan,
Hongkong, Singapore and Australia (1972) and later in Europe (1974), Latin America (1977), the
Middle east and Africa (1978). It added its parcel delivery in 1979. Between 1985 and 1988 DHL
doubles its customer base to more than half a million and quadruples the number of shipments it
handles. It s also the first express delivery company to anticipate the demand for total logistics

It is from my understanding as well for this scenario, the steps provided in the continuity plan for
evacuation has everyone reporting to the 1st floor no matter what. If the situation, fire, hazmat spill,
or anything else is on the first floor, then where are the personnel to evacuate to then? There should
not be a designated evacuation point inside the facility. Each individual office EW should have a
designated spot outside of the facility to report to for accountability. This would prevent personnel
from entering into a hazard that has occurred. There should be primary and alternate directions of
travel for the personnel to get to the designated location, and a primary and alternate designated
location. The EW should designate a person to take the accountability; at that time the EW can
contact the Operational Emergency Management Teams (OEMT s) while everyone else waits for
further instructions. The OEMT should also have an alternate designated location if the 1st floor is
unavailable or could be in the affected cordoned area. These steps should be just for short term
actions. For long term actions, there should be coordination with nearby facilities to conduct
business. It would seem awfully expensive to send mission critical personnel to complete business
overseas when a closer facility could be utilized for a few months. What is to be done

La Vita Nuova
The promise of a new life at a wedding is an optimistic rebirth; the loss of a lover is an obligatory
uprooting. Allegra Goodman s La Vita Nuova records the changed life of a freshly dumped bride
to be. As she endures her altered life, Amanda occupies herself by babysitting her student Nathaniel.
Amanda uses irony, dark humor, and juxtaposition as a coping mechanism; instead of facing the
new life she has to live, she uses sardonic reflection to elongate her mourning period.
When Amanda digs up memories of her ex fiancГ©, her timing and choice of anecdote help her
wallow in rejection for longer. Reflecting on her breakup, she says We had too many differences...
For example, I loved him and he didn t love me (Goodman). She proves this with the things she
remembers her fiancГ© saying to her. There are two basic types of ex fiance quotes: insults with
witty retorts from Amanda and compliments contrasted with Amanda s current cynical views. As an
example of the former, while spending time with Nathaniel, Amanda thinks of her fiance s cutting
words: It s hard to be with you, her fiancГ© had said. I feel like I m suffocating. Open a window,

she insists on dwelling on the past.

Exploring The Binding Coordination And Uptake Path Of...
Exploring the binding coordination and uptake path of molybdate and tungstate
Molybdenum and tungsten have similar ionic radii and chemical properties. Tungsten is the
heaviest atom and the only third row transition element that exhibits biological activity in enzymes.
Molybdenum is the only second row transition metal that exhibits biological activity when it is
present in a cofactor of a metalloenzyme. The natural source of molybdenum is molybdate,
molybdate has 4 oxygens bound to the molybdenum in a tetrahedral coordination and is transported
into the cell by ModA, where it is incorporated into the molybdoenzymes, or in various different
cofactor. Tungstenis also taken up by cells in a similar manner as molybdenum but is bound by a
different protein WtpA. Tungsten occurs naturally as tungstate, just like molybdate it has 4 oxygens
bound a tetrahedral. Humans need molybdenum for molybdoenzymes which are essential for our
growth, in thermophiles the molybdenum is usually substituted for tungsten. (Mukund Adams,
1991) Not all life form use molybdenum and not all use tungsten, but all use either molybdenum or
tungsten, to current date there has not been a cell found that doesn t use one or the other. The
molybdoenzymes carry out a variety of different reactions in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes. One

Metaphors of Organization
Gareth Morgan s Metaphors of Organizations
Introduction
Metaphors help simplify complex concepts by integrating an already know term to a new term,
therefore making it more comprehensible to the readers. In his book, Images of Organization,
Gareth Morgan (2006) simply applied metaphors in bringing to our understanding the different
perspectives and faces of organizations (Bottero, K, 2013) This paper would pinpoint and attempt to
examine the major metaphoric postulations of Gareth Morgan s Images of Organization. As
Morgan would say, the entire managementand organizational theories essentially emanate from
implicit mind frames or metaphors that attempt to convince humans to see, know and visualize
situations in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The idea of viewing organizations from a myopic point of view, i.e. from one metaphor is
frowned upon by Morgan since he is of the notion the idea hinders a broader perspective of ideas
and understanding of organization, and that the deployment of more metaphors opens more doors
for a broader scope of decisions and actions (Prince, L,2007)
.
Delineation of Metaphors on Stakeholders Relationships and improvement
Owing to limited rationality of man, Herbert Simon contends that most decisions are based on
limited rationality, that is, the organization is working like a brain. It would be impossible for
organizations to attain perfection since their members have limited information processing abilities
(Morgan, G, 1997)
Maturana and Varela, scientists from Chile advocated that that all living organisms are
organizationally intact, autonomous systems that only relate with their fellow species, and at its
extreme, the environment integrates as part of the organization, which means: A system s
interaction with its environment is really a reflection and part of its own self production;
Organizations are always ... enacting their environments as extensions of their own identity.

Motivation And Introduction Of Handwriting
Motivation and Introduction
Handwriting has continued to persist as a means of communication and recording information in
day to day life with the introduction of new technologies. Given its ubiquity in human transactions,
machine recognition of handwriting has a practical significance in reading postal addresses on
envelopes, in amounts in bank cheques, in handwritten fields in forms. Handwriting is a skill that
is personal to individuals. Writing is considered to have made possible much of a culture and
civilization. The reason that handwriting persists in the age of digital computer is the convenience
of paper and pen as compared to keyboards.
The printing press and type writers opened up the world to formatted documents. Computers and
communication technologies such as word processors, fax machines, and emails are having an
impact on literary and handwriting. Widespread acceptance of digital computers seemingly
challenges the future of handwriting. However, in numerous situations, a pen together with a paper
is much more convenient than a keyboard. Ultimately computer will have to process handwriting in
an unconstrained environment, deal with many writing styles and languages, work with arbitrary
user defined alphabets, and understand any handwritten message by any writer.
Handwriting recognition is a pattern classification task which consists of detecting keywords in
handwritten document images. It is the task of transforming a language represented in its spatial
form

World Order Research Paper
The world order, in general, refers to the economic, political or social state of affairs prevailing
in the world at a given time and the corresponding effect this has on the different relationships
countries have among each other. In this essay, I will argue that the world order is not in fact
changing and that we are not witnessing a power shift from the West to the rest of the world. To
prove this, I will analyse in terms of hard and soft power how the West is still the more dominant
party. Firstly, I will compare the military and economic power of the US and China and come to
the conclusion that the US is the more dominant power. Next, I will demonstrate how in terms of

It could, therefore, be argued that these increased political tensions may cause the US to lose
key allies and in turn help China become the more favoured country. However, in recent times,
China has proven to be arrogant, aggressive and rude when it comes to executing its foreign
policy. Many countries, including Japan and India, claim to find it increasingly challenging to
cooperate with China and this has done nothing but push said countries towards the US and
cemented the US s global power. Therefore, it is clear that even in terms of soft power, the US
scores much higher than China and as a result there will be no shift in power which re
emphasizes the fact that the world order is not changing. In conclusion, I have argued that the
world order is not changing. In order to prove this, I have first established that in terms of hard
power (militarily and economically) the US is the more dominant power and as a result there
appears to be no power shift. Furthermore, I have shown that even in terms of soft power (using
foreign aid and foreign policy) the US still scores ahead of China, once again indicating no signs of

The Internet Service Providers Are Not Allowed...
The whole idea of net neutrality is that it allows Americans to be able to access everything. It
doesn t matter the source; internet services providers are not allowed discriminate against specific
websites. The problem that Americans wanted to address was that companies were doing . They
specifically wanted to address how companies were hindering with the websites they could access
and what cannot . Americans did notice and turned to the federal government specifically the
Federal Communications Commission to step in (The FCC is an independent government agency)
and resolve this national issue. They asked the FCC to codify the presumption of network neutrality
into actual regulations to prevent the Internet Service Providers from engaging in preferential or
discriminatory treatment for financial gain or just because they felt like it (Public Knowledge).
In other words, Americans wanted to stop ISP s to stop hindering with the content they access for
financial gain , they needed a gatekeeper to prevent ISP s from doing this and in so the FCC
created the Open Internet Order in 2010. In fact, the FCC enacted the Open Internet Order in 2010
to prevent large telecommunications firms like Verizon and Comcast from stifling competition and
innovation online ( Public Knowledge). If there were no neutrality rules, Internet Service
Providers can prevent users from seeing certain websites just by slowing the speed for services like
Netflix and Hulu and even redirect

Use Of Bearings And Its Impact On Society
The use of bearings has been emerging in the society for a few years now. It is a lot more
common to see people use bearings to find angles and work out where an object or area might be
located. The use of a compass is also key in finding bearings as the compass shows the true north
and from there the bearing of a point from another point can be calculated. It is key to always
begin facing north is the bearing calculated is to be found in the true north format. The use of the
Geographic Coordinate Systemis also a common use in society, this system uses two sets of
numbers (longitudeand latitude) to locate and identify every single spot of the Earth to a certain
extent of decimal places. This is the most commonly used system to plot the coordinates of a place
on Earth, it is also the most accurate system known to humanity.
The purpose of this investigation is to use bearings in everyday life. gain a deeper understanding
of bearings and see a few examples of how bearings are used in daily life will be explored as a
demonstration. The aim of this investigation was to be able to determine where a spot is located
in comparison to another through the use of bearings and geographic coordinates. Once this
investigation is complete it is expected to be able to use bearings to determine the location of
another point from the base point and draw a reasonably accurate diagram of where that point

Types Of Investments And Bonds
Introduction
This paper will examine two basic types of investments; stock and bonds, from an investor s
perspective highlighting the advantages and disadvantages between common stock (equity) and
corporate bonds (debt).
Webster Dictionary defines investment as the outlay of money usually for income or profit usually
in a tangible asset such as property . With both stocks and bonds, the only thing tangible is a
simple piece of paper, a certificate. On the surface, these certificates may seem the same, however
there is a very important fundamental difference. Owning a stock certificate is evidence of being a
shareholder; hence money is exchanged for a portion of ownership in a company. A bond
certificate, on the other hand, represents a contract and evidence of giving a loan to a company.
Stocks are considered equity investments and bonds debt investments. This key difference brings
its own set of pros and cons to each of these types of investment and affects their level of risk and
return.
The Advantages of Stocks
Corporations issue both stocks and bonds to raise capital to purchase land, equipment, building,
or even pay off debt. However, there are several advantages to investors to purchase a stock in a
corporation over bonds. First, when you purchase a share of stock you essentially become a part
owner in the company. With this ownership comes special privileges, such as the right to vote on
who sits on the board of directors and on matters that could

Indian Partition And Its Effect
Making a decision is not always as simple as it may seem. Needs and preferences must be
ascertained, someone will ultimately be compelled to make a choice, and more often than not,
others will be forced to make sacrifices and may become indignant that their preferences were not
honored. The decision to partition Indiawas not a simple decision, but, in fact, the very opposite of
that; India was in a state of such mayhem that it seemed as if it would be impossible to come up
with the perfect solution. Eventually, the British government was forced to partition India and
virtually everyone was forced to make dire sacrifices. As India was divided into the nation of
Pakistanand the Republic of India, it is not an understatement to suggest that millions of lives were
overturned. However, when accurately trying to understand the Indian Partition and its effect,
historical accounts often focus solely on prominent figures and overlook the experience and
perspectives of the millions at the ground level. Not only would studying the viewpoints and
experiences of ordinary people bring forth a very different sense of history, but it is important to
wholly understand the Partition as well. By considering this aspect of history, this evaluation will
demonstrate that, by ignoring non elites interpretations and experiences, historians omitted key
elements of the story. [Can you add a roadmap that looks ahead to some of the specific themes you
ll discuss?]

Fleischer Studios Research Paper
The Fleischer Studios is one of the most influential and successful animation studios in the silent era
and later became one of the prominent force in the Golden Age of animation. Originally known as
Inkwell Studios until 1929, the company was founded by brothers, Max and Dace Fleischer in 1921
who ran the company until Paramount Pictures acquired it in 1941. Its influence and impact in the
animationindustry due to the surreal, yet clever movements in animation, numerous innovations,
inventions such as the Rotoscope, and the style of cartoons in contrast to that of Disney films, rose
the studio to becoming one of the main and most fierce competitor to Walt DisneyProductions in the

The demand for Fleischers cartoons was began to steadily rise. In order to meet the demands, the
brothers hired more employees and move their location to a bigger and comfortable work
environment at 1600 Broadway, New York City. The Fleischers Studios had secured another
breakthrough in the animation industry, by partnering up with Lee DeForest, a pioneer in sound
technology, they were able to create the first cartoon, My Old Kentucky Home (1926), using
synchronized sound, a mere two years before the most recognized short, Steamboat Willy (1928).
Another innovation under the Studios belt was the concept of the bouncing ball, which provided
the audiences with lyrics and rhythm of music for them to sing along, something practically
nonexistent in modern times. After partnering up with Paramount Pictures, the Fleischer Studios
created another successful cartoon star, Betty Boop, adapted Popeye comic strips into cartoons and
responsible for what he is known for in modern times, including the famous theme song, and
eventually, producing their first feature length film, Gulliver s Travels, which proven to be a
massive financial success in the public despite its limited initial

Dmitri Mendeleev Research Paper
Ben Jensen Mr. Houston Chemistry 14 May 2014 Dmitri Mendeleev It is the function of science
to discover the existence of a general reign of order in nature and to find the causes governing this
order. And this refers in equal measure to the relations of man social and political and to the entire
universe as a whole. This quote from Dmitri Mendeleev, a famous chemist from the mid 1800s,
helps illustrate both his work as a chemist and his opinion about the importance of scientific
research and education. Dmitri Mendeleev was an important chemist and influential scientist whose

He was also a founder of the Russian Chemical Society. Mendeleev worked tirelessly to improve
Russia s economy through the petroleum and coal industry. Married twice, he had a combined total
of six children. He was also presented several prestigious awards for his scientific achievements. In
1905, he was awarded the Copley Medal, the highest honor of the British Royal Society, granted
membership to the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, and was very nearly awarded the Nobel
Prize for Chemistry. In 1955, element 101 was named Mendelevium in his honor. Mendeleev died

  • 2. Summer Of 83 Chapter 2 Summary If you aren t willing to face your demons if you can t find the courage to take on your fear and hurt and anger you might as well wrap them up with a bow and give them to your children. Because they will be carrying the same thing...unless you are willing to do the work (Page 46). In chapter 2 summer of 83 Dickey tells his traumatic rape stories. Dickey demonstrated a great deal of fear and innocence. At the tender age of ten, R.A. was exposed to very explicit behaviour numerous amounts of time. Dickey, being a child at the time, was not able to express himself out of fear. The acts were so traumatic for such an innocent child that it left mental scars causing him to fall into a deep depression. He was at a very vulnerable age during... When Dickey was in search of self awareness, he had little to no confidence in his pitches. He relied heavily on his knuckle ball, but he could not throw it with demand; resulting in him letting up a lot of runs and putting his career at jeopardy. Once Dickey turned to his Christian faith, he began to find his self awareness that he was searching for and started to excel in his performance. Although he did well, he wanted to be the best, so he paid attention to the game as a whole and realized that one is only good as their last inning . With this thought in the back of his head he came to the conclusion that he needs to learn from the mistakes he made in previous games rather than dwelling on them. Also, he realized that the fans play a crucial part in the game, they know how to get in the players head and make them feel for their mistakes, so having a rock hard confidence is key, not only for the fans, but for big games like the playoffs as well. Dickey s new found confidence is what put him on the map, winning him several accolades and a big contract. Having a short term memory and a bulletproof confidence is what separates a minor leaguer from a Major League ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Within this essay I will explain the differences between race and racism, I will also include the history of the slave trade and how it came about. Traditional or chattel slavery (slave trade) involves the buying and selling of people, they are often abducted from their homes, inherited or given as gifts. (O Donnell 1992) Its only the past hundred and fifty years or so that attempts have been made to put racism on a scientific footing, before that discriminatory practices were usually justified or condemned on religious beliefs, whites were seen as the offspring of Adam and Eve which in tern were classed as the advantaged. (O Donnell 1992) The roots of racial division lie within the expansion of the European empire during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, after the Second World War the British Empireexpanded to the Far East which is when the occupation of India, Pakistan and large parts of Africa along with several islands in the West Indies took place. The exploitation of Africans (mainly West Africans) was a key factor in laying the foundations for the future racial conflict. Slave traders were mainly from Britain, Spain, France and Portugal; they kidnapped Africans and transported them to the southern USA where they were forced to work on sugar, rum, tobacco and cotton plantations. • 5. Socioeconomic Effects of Coffee Trade on the Ethiopian Farmer Socioeconomic effects on farmers in a volatile Ethiopian coffee market and the promise of the Fair Trade movement Coffee and Ethiopia have shared a lengthy and highly tumultuous relationship. According to some, their history dates back to the fifteenth century, but it is widely acknowledged that extensive trade didn t begin until the late eighteenth century (Aregay 1988, 19). As world coffee consumption skyrocketed in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, Ethiopia s economy grew increasingly dependent on the industry. By the mid 1970 s, it s estimated that coffee accounted for a staggering 55% of all Ethiopian exports. This figure has since declined, and today it s estimated to be somewhere around 35% (Daviron, Ponte 2005, 61 62). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This year he expects aound $60 for the coffee (Gresser, Tickell 2002, 42). Yet again, we are faced with the unavoidable question: if the farmer is not making any money, the millers aren t making any money and the exporters are not making any money, who is? To answer this, we must look to the roasters and retailers: a group of five corporate giants who purchase over fifty percent of the market s green coffee beans (Gresser, Tickell 2002, 27 28). Certain analysts have estimated that Nestle earns up to 26% profit on all instant coffee sales (Luttinger, Dicum 2011, 131). The great disparity is made possible by the massive amounts of power these companies possess. Though public perception of the companies has begun a move toward skepticism, it is still largely positive. Corporations work to enormous lengths to ensure brand loyalty. For example, instant coffee companies in the UK spent over $68 million on advertising in 1999. Because they re aware that the public might not agree with their business practices, they work relentlessly to ensure that we don t learn too much. Nestle is known for releasing intentionally complex business records that often pool all of their beverage profits, which includes many non coffee products, into one (Luttinger, Dicum 2011, 118). • 9. Migration And Racial Tension Of Australia Migration and racial tension I believe that the two topics that I have chosen relate to each other in many ways. The racial tension came from the migrating races to Australia, and the issues that the Australians of the time had with the new people . The migration occurred because there was a growing business in a new country, there were more opportunities for trade and everyone wanted to try their luck on the gold fields. I found the migrating story s from the Chinese to be more of an interesting theme. This is the same with the racial tension, the mass groups of Chinese were the main targets with the racism. Most migrants that came to Australia to grab a share of the gold rush, left behind family and home. In traditional Chinese culture this was particularly difficult for them to come from a parent s heavy focused family system, to an alien country to live. The Chinese people that came to Australia were typically men brining there family over with them to work for an income that would be big enough to support them. The wife however was left at home to forfill the role of looking after her in laws in this time. The family would have to work for them aswell, and send a percentage of there profit over. As the population of chinses immergents started to climb, they were starting to become apart of population statistics. • 11. How Ketchum Is A Small Town Of Northeast Oklahoma That Has... Ketchum is a small town in northeast Oklahoma that has a present day population of 450 residents. Ketchum first became a town in 1899 and was named after a Delaware tribe member named James Ketchum. The town was originally located in the northeast part of Mayes County, close to James and his wife Elisabeth s home. However, in 1912 once the Kansas, OklahomaGulf Railroad was expanded from Kansas to Texas the town was relocated. Residents moved the town site to the southeastern part of Craig County sandwiched between Mayes County and Delaware County to be near the railroad. In 1803 part of the land that would someday become Ketchum was a small portion of the land that was acquired through the Louisiana Purchase. This land was unsettled and deemed only suitable for Indian relocation. In 1830 President Andrew Jackson signed The Indian Removal Act and all Indians West of the Mississippi were forced to move to the Indian Territory. Once the tribes arrived in Indian Territory they began to rebuild. The struggles to rebuild lasted many years and some tribes never flourish as they once did. Many of the effects of the forced relocation are still felt today. Because of the forced removal the Indians did not trust the federal government. When the civil war began in 1861 many of the Indians sided with the confederates due to the lack of trust they had with the federal government and many of the tribes fought alongside with the Confederate army. From reading the Epic of Gilgamesh we can begin to understand the values help by ancient Mesopotamian society. By reading the Ramayana we can analysis the religion and world view of Hinduism. Many ancient stories seem to parallel each other. Although stories are written in diverse cultures, there tend to be likenesses, especially between the protagonists. This is true with the stories of the Epic of Gilgameshand the Ramayana when it comes to the depictions of their heros. A hero is described as a figure who is recognized for their extraordinary accomplishments. Joseph Campbell says all hero s follow a certain path. First, they go through a separation, then an initiation. They go through an initiation to show their worth as a hero, then they return and are reintegrated with society after learning a lesson. Hero s should also be relatable, which is why they often go through crisis and failures. Even though they contrast each other, Rama from the Ramayana and Gilgamesh from the Epic of Gilgamesh have similar archetypes of the hero. The characters of Rama and Gilgamesh have multiple similarities that are shown in their stories. Rama and Gilgamesh are both examples of Campbell s hero because they both go through separation, initiation, return. It is always nice to take a long drive to see somewhere you haven t seen before and be able to see new places along the way. Over the short duration of our trip I ve a acquired some funny stories that work by themselves but I m happy that I get to tell them all. • 14. Should Gas Prices Be Raised If a person was asked a question such as Should taxes be raised? Their answer would most likely be no way! The reasons why gas prices should not be raised is because if the price is raised then the poor people will have a harder time paying for their house and bills, and by the way expanding economy and cheaper oil makes more moneyfor the United States, and last if there is a smaller price on gas then the demand for it will go down by a lot. First of all, it is very obvious that if the prices go up for something, then people who do not have as much money are going to struggle. If the prices go up for gas then the non wealthy people will probably have trouble finding money to pay for their gas in their cars. Not only will they struggle with paying for their gas, they will have distress in paying for their house and their bills. Imagine living in a governer house with a few kids and a wife or a husband. Then all the sudden the gas prices go up about one dollar! That family would not be happy at those changes. Then if they found out that the government increased the prices only to reduce consumption, then they would definitely be in rough scenario. • 16. Revenge In Hamlet And Othello Across his many works, William Shakespeare commonly uses revenge not only as a motive for individuals but as a driving force for the entire plot. This appears in both Hamlet, in which the hero seeks revenge for the murder of his father, and Othello, in which the villain seeks revenge for the promotion of the less qualified Michael Cassio. Though Shakespeare portrays these characters conversely, their ends and means mirror each other. Readers can draw parallels between Prince Hamletand Iago: they both have a desire for revenge, a meticulous methodology, and the intellect needed to tie together their plans. Using their intellect, both Prince Hamlet and Iago form elaborate plans, manipulate those around them, and, after much suffering, achieve their goals. At the discovery of his father s murder, Hamlet quickly springs into planning how to revenge [King Hamlet s] ... most unnatural murder and builds his plan around the opportunities presented by the arrival of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, the play put on by the acting troupe, and young Fortinbras desire to cross Denmark s borders (I.v.25). According to the website premierbiosoft.com mass spectrometry is a capable scientific procedure used to evaluate known materials, to distinguish obscure mixes inside an example, and to illustrate the structure and substance properties of various molecules. This is basically a technique that study the effect of ionizing energy on molecules. Assume you had a cannonball going past you and you needed to redirect it as it passed by you. All you have is a fly of water from a hose pipe that you can squirt at it. To be perfectly honest, it won t have a considerable measure of effect! Since the cannonball is so overwhelming, it will scarcely be avoided at all from its unique course. Be that as it may, assume rather, you attempted to avoid a table tennis ball going at an indistinguishable speed from the cannonball utilizing similar fly of water. • 19. The Andrea Doria And The Collisions Of The Andrea Doria The night of July 25, 1956 the Stockholm, a Swedish passenger liner, collided into the Andrea Doria, Italian luxury liner, south of Nantucket. The collision claimed 46 lives onboard the Andrea Doria and five lives onboard the Stockholm. This was the world s first RADAR assisted collision at sea (Halpern, 2008). However, the collision was not caused by a RADAR malfunction. The collision was a result from the incompetence of the crew with the RADAR and the overall misconduct of the crew. The fog was very dense around the Andrea Doria as it traveled west at 267 degrees true with a speed of 21.8 knots (Halpern, 2008). The master of the Andrea Doria, Captain Piero Calamai, made all preparations necessary for navigation in fog (Halpern, 2008). This included additional lookouts on the bow and in the bridge, watertight doors closed, extra men on standby in the engine room, and a fog whistle sounding. Once the Nantucket lightship was detected on the RADAR dead ahead, Capt. Calamai ordered course change to 261 degrees to pass about a mile and half south of the light ship (Halpern, 2008). The Stockholm was running at 18.5 knots eastbound toward the Nantucket Shoals lightship at 090 degrees true, in a visibility of about 5 miles (Halpern, 2008). • 20. How Did Appeasement Cause Ww2 Appeasement, a foreign policy particularly prevalent in the period of time leading up until the outbreak of World War Two, undoubtedly played a role in the ignition of the second world war, however the extent if this role and the impact it had a cause for the war is debatable. Appeasement was a policy employed as a preventative measure to stop the outbreak of war, at a time when the horrors of the First World War were still affecting European society, and involved making concessions to the opposition, in this case Adolf Hitlerand Nazi Germany. Whilst it is clear that Appeasement was a failure as it did not manage to prevent the outbreak of another war, some historians argue that it in fact was one of the causes of the war. This aspect of the debate was ignited in 1961 by notable historian A.J.P. Taylor, when he asserted1 that the outbreak of War in Europe in 1939 was as much the fault of the politicians of Europe and their persistence with Appeasement, which gradually allowed Hitler and Nazi Germany more freedom then the terms dictated in the Treaty of Versailles and eventually paved the way for militarization and the outbreak of war, as it was in fact Nazi Germany s. The most commonly accepted views of Appeasement are that of Historians such as Norman Rich who asserted2 that Nazi ideology and Hitler s aggressive foreign policy made the outbreak of war unavoidable. However, to form a conclusion about these debates, we must first understand the policy of Appeasement and its ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God s glorious standard (3:23). When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned (5:12). For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord (6:23). But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners (5:8). While Jesus walked on this earth He served. Not only did he serve the people he met but he served God. Having a servant mentality is putting someone else s needs before your own. Serventhood begins by fullfiling a need of a person without judgement and/or condemnation. It could be as easy as preparing a meal for a family who has just welcomed a baby into the family or cleaning the yard of a person who is unable to do it themselves. When a persons needs are being met it opens their heart and mind to the reasoning behind the act. Mission trips are also a great way of serving. Not all missions are done in other countries, they can be done in your town just as easy as abroad. The purpose in a mission is serve a group of people on behalf of God. An Advantage would be that a person is able to have their needs met while also witnessing the love of Jesus. The idea behind servanthood would be to establish a relationship. Earning the trust of the person by simply showing that their needs matter and deserve to be met. An advantage of serving would be inviting a nonbeliever to join you on a mission trip. The thought of travel often times is enough to get a person interested, in turn the Holy Spirit will utilize the servanthood to pour into the heart of a nonbeliever that may not be possible in their own back yard. ... The Revenge Tragedy Of Hamlet Essay Issara Butt Professor Abbott English 102 November 30, 2016 The Revenge Tragedy of Hamlet Revenge tragedies share some common characteristics of the play Hamlet which classify them in the group of many great stories such as The Spanish Tragedy, and King Lear. A vengeful ghost, a play within a play, and the main character who seeks revenge on an opponent and murdered (KAY). At some point in life many of us feel the need to seek revenge and never actually act upon it, but what if we did? What would be the consequences and what would life be like afterwards. The thoughts we have of this makes the stories of revenge tragedies exciting and intriguing. They are our thoughts written on paper and into a story making as if what we think is actually happening. In the time of Shakespearean writing, things would have gone slightly different. The play Hamlet, is a prime example of a revenge tragedy in its refined state of written speech. Hamlet is a revenge tragedy for many reasons, not only that but it is the most written, re enacted, and read play of all time (TUMIEL). The multiple plots of revenge, murders, and ghost appearances makes Hamlet the leading play of revenge tragedies and most studied currently in academic curriculums. It is believed to be that William Shakespeare s Hamlet was based off of Thomas Kyd s story, Ur Hamlet (MABILLARD). Exploring the binding coordination and uptake path of molybdate and tungstate Molybdenum and tungsten have similar ionic radii and chemical properties. Tungsten is the heaviest atom and the only third row transition element that exhibits biological activity in enzymes. The natural source of molybdenum is molybdate, molybdate has 4 oxygens bound to the molybdenum in a tetrahedral coordination and is transported into the cell by ModA, where it is incorporated into the molybdoenzymes, or in various different cofactor. Tungstenis also taken up by cells in a similar manner as molybdenum but is bound by a different protein WtpA. • 38. Motivation And Introduction Of Handwriting Motivation and Introduction Handwriting has continued to persist as a means of communication and recording information in day to day life with the introduction of new technologies. Given its ubiquity in human transactions, machine recognition of handwriting has a practical significance in reading postal addresses on envelopes, in amounts in bank cheques, in handwritten fields in forms. Handwriting is a skill that is personal to individuals. Writing is considered to have made possible much of a culture and civilization. The reason that handwriting persists in the age of digital computer is the convenience of paper and pen as compared to keyboards. The printing press and type writers opened up the world to formatted documents. Computers and communication technologies such as word processors, fax machines, and emails are having an impact on literary and handwriting. Widespread acceptance of digital computers seemingly challenges the future of handwriting. However, in numerous situations, a pen together with a paper is much more convenient than a keyboard. Ultimately computer will have to process handwriting in an unconstrained environment, deal with many writing styles and languages, work with arbitrary user defined alphabets, and understand any handwritten message by any writer. Handwriting recognition is a pattern classification task which consists of detecting keywords in handwritten document images. It is the task of transforming a language represented in its spatial form ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 40. World Order Research Paper The world order, in general, refers to the economic, political or social state of affairs prevailing in the world at a given time and the corresponding effect this has on the different relationships countries have among each other. In this essay, I will argue that the world order is not in fact changing and that we are not witnessing a power shift from the West to the rest of the world. To prove this, I will analyse in terms of hard and soft power how the West is still the more dominant party. Firstly, I will compare the military and economic power of the US and China and come to the conclusion that the US is the more dominant power. Next, I will demonstrate how in terms of foreign policy and political power the US commands more soft power... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It could, therefore, be argued that these increased political tensions may cause the US to lose key allies and in turn help China become the more favoured country. However, in recent times, China has proven to be arrogant, aggressive and rude when it comes to executing its foreign policy. Many countries, including Japan and India, claim to find it increasingly challenging to cooperate with China and this has done nothing but push said countries towards the US and cemented the US s global power. Therefore, it is clear that even in terms of soft power, the US scores much higher than China and as a result there will be no shift in power which re emphasizes the fact that the world order is not changing. In conclusion, I have argued that the world order is not changing. In order to prove this, I have first established that in terms of hard power (militarily and economically) the US is the more dominant power and as a result there appears to be no power shift. Furthermore, I have shown that even in terms of soft power (using foreign aid and foreign policy) the US still scores ahead of China, once again indicating no signs of a power ... It doesn t matter the source; internet services providers are not allowed discriminate against specific websites. The problem that Americans wanted to address was that companies were doing . They specifically wanted to address how companies were hindering with the websites they could access and what cannot . Americans did notice and turned to the federal government specifically the Federal Communications Commission to step in (The FCC is an independent government agency) and resolve this national issue. They asked the FCC to codify the presumption of network neutrality into actual regulations to prevent the Internet Service Providers from engaging in preferential or discriminatory treatment for financial gain or just because they felt like it (Public Knowledge). It is a lot more common to see people use bearings to find angles and work out where an object or area might be located. • 46. Types Of Investments And Bonds Introduction This paper will examine two basic types of investments; stock and bonds, from an investor s perspective highlighting the advantages and disadvantages between common stock (equity) and corporate bonds (debt). Webster Dictionary defines investment as the outlay of money usually for income or profit usually in a tangible asset such as property . With both stocks and bonds, the only thing tangible is a simple piece of paper, a certificate. On the surface, these certificates may seem the same, however there is a very important fundamental difference. Owning a stock certificate is evidence of being a shareholder; hence money is exchanged for a portion of ownership in a company. A bond certificate, on the other hand, represents a contract and evidence of giving a loan to a company. Stocks are considered equity investments and bonds debt investments. This key difference brings its own set of pros and cons to each of these types of investment and affects their level of risk and return. The Advantages of Stocks Corporations issue both stocks and bonds to raise capital to purchase land, equipment, building, or even pay off debt. However, there are several advantages to investors to purchase a stock in a corporation over bonds. First, when you purchase a share of stock you essentially become a part owner in the company. With this ownership comes special privileges, such as the right to vote on who sits on the board of directors and on matters that could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 48. Indian Partition And Its Effect Making a decision is not always as simple as it may seem. Needs and preferences must be ascertained, someone will ultimately be compelled to make a choice, and more often than not, others will be forced to make sacrifices and may become indignant that their preferences were not honored. The decision to partition Indiawas not a simple decision, but, in fact, the very opposite of that; India was in a state of such mayhem that it seemed as if it would be impossible to come up with the perfect solution. Eventually, the British government was forced to partition India and virtually everyone was forced to make dire sacrifices. As India was divided into the nation of Pakistanand the Republic of India, it is not an understatement to suggest that millions of lives were overturned. However, when accurately trying to understand the Indian Partition and its effect, historical accounts often focus solely on prominent figures and overlook the experience and perspectives of the millions at the ground level. Not only would studying the viewpoints and experiences of ordinary people bring forth a very different sense of history, but it is important to wholly understand the Partition as well.
