Interested in doing something physical with data and using informatics as part of a user experience. And I would like to use it to logically and conceptually relate to and represent the data.
Nathalie miebach building data collecting devices that extract weather data from specific environments. Living on Cape Cod at the time, I went to Herring Cove Beach for 18 months on a daily basis, rain or shine, to observe and record the interaction between weather and environment. The data was then compared to historical and global trends in weather and finally translated into a series of sculptures.

Of all the characters that make up weather, I consider the wind to be the prima-donna of the cast. While the forces behind weather are mostly invisible, the wind made its presence known through all sorts of visible signs, from the way the ocean behaves, the type and speed of clouds, the way the birds fly and behave, to how long I could endure it out there on the beach.
I’d like for it to be interactive
I am collecting air quality data.
Air is made up of:
Dry air contains roughly (by volume) 78.09% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.039% carbon dioxide, and small amounts of other gases. Air also contains a variable amount of water vapor, on average around 1%.
Indoor air can contain other elements, like vocs
Research done by nasa proving the benefit in using plants to filter indoor air quality.
I want to extend the research into other plants, probably moss, MAYBE bromeliads and compare the effectiveness.
Creating two contained environments with air blowing into them - study and control. Study will blow the air through a tunnel of moss and the control will just blow the air in.
The sensors I am using:
O2, co2, voc, temperature and humidity
