Discussion/Conclusion
Today’s Objective

• Write discussion and conclusion
• Complete first draft
What should I write for my
       discussion
Consider these things

• The main result of your survey
• A secondary result
• A contrasting result
• An interesting result (if there is one)
Table 3: Reasons

Respondent Don’t care Good communication Clear line

Male 8 2 0
Female 6 3 1

(Main result – 1st paragraph)
80 percent of male students don’t care if their teacher wears a suit.
60 percent of female students don’t care if their teacher wears a suit.

(Secondary result – 2nd paragraph)
20 percent of male students suggested casual dress was good for
communication.
30 percent of female students suggested casual dress was good for
communication.

(Contrasting result – 3rd paragraph)
10 percent of female students said suits presented a clear line.
The main result of your survey
In general, the overwhelming number of
students did not agree with KIBS’s dress code,
which requires BCP teachers to wear suits.
Eighty percent of male students and 60
percent of female students did not think it was
necessary for their BCP teacher to wear a suit
to class. The most common reason given was
that students did not care if their teacher wore
  a suit or not.
Then the secondary result

Furthermore, 20 percent of male students and 30
percent of female students believed a more casual dress
code would help communication in the classroom,
because it would create a more relaxed atmosphere.
Also, it would be a change from the teacher/student
relationship they experienced in high school.
Contrasting result

In contrast, only 10 percent of the students
agreed with the KIBS dress code for male
teachers. The main reason given was that it
created a definite line between the teacher
and students.
An interesting result (if there is one)

An interesting finding was that while students
did not feel it was necessary for BCP
teachers to wear suits, 60 percent of female
students suggested they would not feel
comfortable if their BCP teacher dressed too
casually in jeans and a polo shirt.
Conclusion

Restate the information in your
            results
Summarize your results

According to the survey, students at KIBS do not
believe BCP teachers need to wear suits in order to
present a professional image in the classroom.
Make a recommendation

As a result, KIBS should consider changing the dress
code for male teachers. A change in the rule would create
a more relaxed atmosphere in BCP classes and make it
clear to KIBS students that the learning environment at
our school is very different from high school.

But, only make a recommendation if it is necessary
             for your report.
Some of your reports do not require
             recommendations.
