Identifying a gap in the literature;
Identifying a problem highlighted by the gap in the literature and framing a purpose for the study;

9. Methodology
Determine the method of investigation
Outline the research design
Define the Sample size and the characteristics of the proposed
sample;
Describe the procedures to follow for data collection and data
analyses

11. Overall Quality of Your Proposal
• Is the Title informative?
• Are the Specific Aims clear?
• Is the Background & Significance scholarly and pertinent?
• Are the Methods appropriate for the experiments?
• Is the timetable realistic?
• Is the proposal clear, brief, well-organized?
