This document outlines a dissertation proposal to examine the links between misaligned leadership behaviors and organizational performance using a grounded theory methodology. The problem is that misaligned leadership behaviors across managers are negatively impacting organizational performance but have not been directly studied. The purpose is to inquire into this problem and develop a theory on how misaligned behaviors affect areas like trust, morale, and productivity. Research questions focus on how behaviors influence performance and how alignments can be identified and affected. The population will include interviews of managers from diverse companies.
