How to apply for and
reserve a residence hall
room for 2016-2017
3. Housing Assignments 2016
• Room and Board Contracts are binding for the full academic year!
• If you presently receive financial aid, you may experience a
decrease in aid if you plan on moving to non-UE housing. Please
contact the Financial Aid Office for more information.
• 2 year residency requirement.
• You are expected to read all university and housing policies before
submitting your contract, as your e-signature binds them to all such
policies.
• CONSOLIDATION: The Residence Life Office reserves the right to
move you or move someone into your room if you do not have a
roommate.
• If you desire a special accommodation (i.e. single room) for a
documented medical condition, you must submit a Housing
Accommodation Form and a Single Room Request Form.
4. Cancellation Policy
• April 5th Deadline – Any Reason (junior/seniors)
• After April 5th, you can ONLY cancel housing for
the following reasons (with $200 penalty and loss of $100
deposit):
– Going to Harlaxton or Study Abroad
– Living locally with parents legal guardians
– Interning / Clinical / Co-op / Student Teaching
outside of Evansville area (full time)
– Transferring, graduating, or withdrawing
• Requests to live off campus with friends or by
self after April 5th will not be approved.
5. Proxy Information
• If you are unable to come at assigned times, you
may send someone in your place
• Your Proxy should know all of your housing choices
• YOU should have your contract submitted by the
time proxy comes in
• Housing selection appointments are NOT a valid
excuse to skip class!
6. Proxy Information
Are you a proxy for a student studying
abroad or not on campus this semester?
These students will follow the same process as all
current students on campus
(use the hall they lived in for the fall semester)
7. Meal Plans
Purple Prime - 235 meals + 300 Ace Bucks
Purple – 235 meals + 85 Ace Bucks
Orange – 185 meals + 185 Ace Bucks
White – 135 meals + 400 Ace Bucks
Evansville Select – 60 meals + 150 Ace Bucks
(Reserved for Commuters, Village Residents, Fraternity House residents, and seniors
living in residence halls)

12. Lottery Process
If you submitted a contract through WebAdvisor and have not claimed a space
in housing yet, you will automatically be entered into the lottery process.
Rising Senior 75 + credit hrs. 1st appointments
Rising Junior 44 – 74 credit hrs. 2nd appointments
Rising Sophomore 3 - 43 credit hrs. 3rd appointments

• At assigned appointment times only
14. Helpful Tip
Have several choices of rooms to ensure that
you are prepared if your first plan is not
available. Remember, at this point many of the
rooms may have already been reclaimed, so
have different options in mind.
We can always place you on a wait list for a
certain hall too.
15. Moore Hall Suites
• Request Cards Available until March 4th
• 4 person suites
• 3 available
• Awarded to the 3 groups with the highest
total credit hours (as of the end of Fall 2015)
16. Gender Neutral Housing
• Options that are supportive of students who may identify as
transgender, gender non-conforming, and of varied sexual
orientations
• Not intended for students who wish to live together with a
significant other
• Applications and Supplemental Contracts are available in the
Residence Life section of our Website located under Student
Housing
• Requests for Gender Neutral Housing in Residence Halls are
due the week of February 29. An appointment with Senior
ResLife staff will be scheduled to review application and
examine options
17. Important Facts to Remember!
Once you have your room assignment, you are finished with the housing
process
Please have a roommate in mind when you sign up for a room
Please bring your student ID when you select a room
Contracts must be submitted by March 4th
If you want to pay extra for a single room, let us know at the time you
select housing
Any spaces reclaimed or chosen during the housing process are subject to
adjustment or reassignment by the Office of Residence Life if necessary
If you do not get a placement you desire, ask to be placed on a wait list.
Wait lists are used throughout the summer
