2. TYLER KINGSTON
• Tyler Kingston, an 19 year old black teenager is the protagonist. Initially he is represented
as a thug teenager who is in a position no one at his age should be in. He is in a typical
teenage attire wearing a matching tracksuit with a chain on his neck and a watch on his
wrist. He initially comes across as a bad teenager due to his body language being laid
back and relaxed but at the same time he looks quite unusual as he is holding a notepad
and a pen. However, this all changes when Rebecca Johnson suddenly approaches him
who looks like a completely opposing persona to Tyler. This causes him to lose his mind
as he is so attracted to her. He begins a conversation with Rebecca where he comes
across quite thuggish which can be said to be a stereotypical feature of modern
teenagers. Through the short film we see him change as a person as he tries to better him
self each time by changing clothes, changing the way he approaches Rebecca and the
way he carries himself, all of this just to get this girls number. This represents some
modern teenagers who try anything to impress a girl.
3. REBECCA JOHNSON
• Rebecca Johnson, an 18 year old teenager the other protagonist is
dressed in a typical teenage girl attire with a black dress and heels. She
represents stereotypical teenagers who wear dresses and go clubbing.
Rebecca’s character was put into the short film in order to create some
tension with Tyler as they are opposing character which makes the film
more intriguing. Throughout the short film we see Rebecca’s character
being continuously nice to Tyler regardless of Tyler’s responses. She is
shown to be a kind hearted girl who is always smiling, while Tyler thinks he
is getting somewhere with Rebecca, Rebecca is attempting to just ask
Tyler for a favour and not paying attention to any romantic tension.
However, we don’t see her try to stop Tyler any point of the film.
