It can be easy to assume that link building is dead, thanks to recent Google algorithm updates. If you look up any news articles on these changes then you’ll hear grand gestures about link building not being relevant anymore and that you shouldn’t be concentrating on this anymore. However, that isn’t strictly the case.

recent Google algorithm updates. If you look up any news
articles on these changes then you’ll hear grand gestures
about link building not being relevant anymore and that
you shouldn’t be concentrating on this anymore.
However, that isn’t strictly the case.
Of course you need to update your methods in order
to make sure you meet Google’s new needs,
but that doesn’t mean you should forget old methods
altogether.
Linking building does work in its own way, but you should think of it more as about
link collecting thank link building. No longer is it good enough just to have lots of
different places link to you, instead you need quality links built naturally. This means
working hard on the rest of your website, social media, branding and online presence
so that websites link to you, rather than you arranging your own backlinks, which you
may have done in the past.

3. Content
What you need to do is put your efforts into quality content. Whether you’re posting
on your own site, your social media or another website you need to think about what
you are writing and what you are putting out there for the masses to see. It is no good
thinking what to write just for the sake of gaining links. There is so much content out
there now, that you have to work hard to create something worthwhile and relevant
so that people choose to link to you.
Think Outside The Box
It is important to think of new methods, ways that you can get your name and brand
(not necessarily your link) out there for people to see. You can get involved in blogger
round up pieces, challenges and other schemes which get a group of authority
bloggers involved in one post or set of posts. This gets your name out there amongst
people in your industry. When you have a number of people contributing to a piece
you are likely to create something helpful, which means that there is more chance of
people actually sharing the link – which is great for your branding and getting your
name

4. Getting involved in other brands and industry names is a great way to get your name
and brand seen my a whole new range of people. Why not see if you can get someone
high up in your industry to write a piece for your blog or maybe to be interviewed for
your page? Anything that is a little different, which is going to get people sharing your
link organically is a positive thing and it is the time of link building you should be working
towards.
Social Media
Of course if you’re trying to build links naturally and raise your awareness online then
social media should not be forgotten. Share your own posts on your own social media
page and encourage people to do the same. Make sure you’re active on Facebook,
Twitter and Google+ as these are all great ways to keep in touch with your customers
and build up your customer base.
Link building might be a little different now, but it is still underlying. Really you need to
be concentrating on encouraging people to want to link to you rather than anything
else. By creating a good name for yourself and decent content that people can trust
you can help to make sure that this happens.
