The relayr Performance Optimization Solution creates a score that quantifies the productivity of planned production time in an industrial process. By capturing data from sensors within the industrial process equipment, the solution can benchmark and analyze the real-time performance of the overall process. Areas requiring improvement are then highlighted, allowing the associated equipment to be optimized. This allows operators to work towards a ‘perfect’ productivity score whilst continually monitoring how well the existing system is performing.

"CP1" developed by Rory Consulting, is a dedicated software platform to support operations of high quality cell processing at a CPC (Cell Processing Center) or CPF (Cell Processing Facility) .
CP1 removes the risk of sample mix-up by using the two dimensional barcode labels, and it automatically sets up
manufacturing and quality inspection processes and reports by product types.
The detailed records of work processes, reagents used, etc., realize traceability and prevent quality-related deviations.
CP1’ s business functions for ordering, purchasing, inventory and profit/loss together with its process management functions, support total business operations of CPC.

Practical Advanced Process Control for Engineers and TechniciansLiving Online
In today's environment, the processing, refining and petrochemical business is becoming more and more competitive and every plant manager is looking for the best quality products at minimum operating and investment costs. The traditional PID loop is used frequently for much of the process control requirements of a typical plant. However there are many drawbacks in using these, including excessive dead time which can make the PID loop very difficult (or indeed impossible) to apply.
Advanced Process Control (APC) is thus essential today in the modern plant. Small differences in process parameters can have large effects on profitability; get it right and profits continue to grow; get it wrong and there are major losses. Many applications of APC have pay back times well below one year. APC does require a detailed knowledge of the plant to design a working system and continual follow up along the life of the plant to ensure it is working optimally. Considerable attention also needs to be given to the interface to the operators to ensure that they can apply these new technologies effectively as well.

and productivity by 20% and 10% with less than one million dollar investment in 2004. Three factors increased
mill yield: less cobbles due to a better and more robust master control, less amount of bars lost during product
changes due to better mill setup, and less waste material due to improvement in flying shear cut precision.

Conoco on Path to Reliability Centered Loop Management: Enhancing ROA on the WayARC Advisory Group
Conoco on Path to Reliability Centered Loop Management: Enhancing ROA on the Way
Process manufacturers have invested heavily in manufacturing plants and
automation systems. A typical manufacturing plant may have hundreds or
even thousands of regulatory control loops to enable safe and efficient operations.
The most complex units often have advanced process control and
optimization schemes implemented on top of these regulatory control
loops. All of these systems have a need for
tighter process control to enable more effective
use of assets that result in higher ROA and ultimately
better business performance and
profitability.
Unfortunately, automation effectiveness deteriorates
over time. The lack of a structured
methodology for control loop maintenance is a
contributing factor that erodes performance. A
manufacturing plant typically has only two or three control engineers who
each have responsibility for a large of number of loops, yet they often have
no means of identifying where to focus their efforts so that their work has
the largest economic impact on plant performance.
This document is intended to serve as a guide for
professionals in the High Volume Manufacturing Industries who want to understand what Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) can deliver for their business.
Sulfuric acid is the largest-volume industrial chemical produced in the world. Concentrated sulfuric acid (93-98 %) is used in the manufacture of fertilizers, explosives, dyes, metal and petroleum products.
The production of sulphuric acid is a delicate process that must be completed in a safe and efficient manner. Automation needs to be carefully designed to control the different stages of the process as per stringent parameters, and to provide continuous monitoring for better management of the plant.

Wireless communication involves the transmission of information over a distance without the help of wires, cables or any other forms of electrical conductors.
Wireless communication is a broad term that incorporates all procedures and forms of connecting and communicating between two or more devices using a wireless signal through wireless communication technologies and devices.
Features of Wireless Communication
The evolution of wireless technology has brought many advancements with its effective features.
The transmitted distance can be anywhere between a few meters (for example, a television's remote control) and thousands of kilometers (for example, radio communication).
Wireless communication can be used for cellular telephony, wireless access to the internet, wireless home networking, and so on.

A performance score of 100% represents perfect production:
manufacturing only good parts, as fast as possible, with no
down time. The score is calculated from three underlying
factors: availability, performance, and quality. Each of these
factors represents a different perspective of how close your
manufacturing process is to perfect performance. Analytics can
then be undertaken on the data to highlight areas requiring
improvement, striving to perfect the manufacturing process.

3. MAIN PARAMETERS
WE WANT TO MEASURE
WITH THE PERFORMANCE
OPTIMIZATION PLATFORM:
Performance: takes into account slow cycles and
small stops. A Performance score of 100% means the
process is running as fast as possible.
Quality: takes into account defects (including parts
that need rework). A quality score of 100% means
there are no defects (only good parts are being
produced).
Availability: takes into account unplanned and
planned stops. An availability score of 100% means
the process is always running during planned
production time.

METRICS FOR
MANUFACTURING
FACTORIES
Increase efficiency - The user will be able to view output related to the inventory
which is used on each production line.
Decrease machine downtime - The OEE should display accumulated data about
downtime of a machine, production line, and/or factory. The user will be able to define
thresholds and alerts.
Visualize performance - The performance of the whole factory down to each indivi-
dual production line will de displayed according to rules defined by the rules engine.
Yield - Percentage of products which are created correctly: one of the most important
parameters which are measured and tracked by the OEE platform is efficiency. That
translates to how many “good” products can we produce in a specific time period.
Energy cost per unit - How much we invest in energy for each unit which we produce
at the production line.
