Reincarnation is the concept that the soul or spirit, after death of the physical body, is reborn in a new body, whether human, animal or spiritual, depending on the moral actions of the previous life. This is a core belief of Hinduism and Buddhism, and was also believed by ancient figures like Pythagoras, Plato and Socrates. While most major world religions today do not embrace reincarnation, many people in recent decades have developed an interest in it.
