Beginning in July 2012, teachers renewing their licenses in 2013 will need to submit a reflective statement demonstrating professional growth in teaching practices. The statement should include self-assessment of accomplishments using supporting evidence such as impact on student learning, best teaching practices, collaboration, or ongoing professional development. The statement can be submitted anytime in the 5-year renewal period and will be evaluated by a committee to ensure it was submitted and meets the basic criteria, not evaluating its content or merits.
