REFERENCING Harvard System for Level
2
REFERENCING
You must keep a list (known as a reference list) of all the
books, journals and webpages you use to help you complete
assignments or presentations.
This is kept at the end of your assignment.
There are several systems for referencing. At West Thames
College students are asked to use the Harvard system.
WHY IS THIS
IMPORTANT?
The two main reasons it is important to produce a
bibliography/references list are:
You must give credit to the person that wrote the book, article
or webpage. You cannot pass their work off as your own.
Anyone that reads your assignment must be able to retrace
your steps and locate the information you have used.
