Paul has been with us supporting a child with ASD in our reception class since April 2016.
Within that time he has developed a bond with the child despite his very challenging
behaviour and complex needs. He has been able to organise a routine that allows them to
access the classroom environment for longer periods of time.
Paul has also supported all the other children in reception and quickly developed a rapport.
He has learnt our routines and has worked with other individuals with special needs.
Paul has a very quiet presence in the classroom, which has contributed to his success with
the children he has supported. He has great patience and as a result the children complete
tasks with great satisfaction and make personal progress.
Noticed for his abilities, Paul has had the opportunity to extend his working hours by being a
midday supervisor. This has allowed him to support children across the whole school. He
actively takes part in the children’s games and encourages others to join in.
