project.
Evaluation is the collecting of different point of view
about your work, analyzing them and drawing.
conclusions in order to measure how successful it has

Evaluation examines whether a project is achieving its
goals and objectives by looking at its results.

The terms formative and summative are commonly
used to described different types of evaluation.
Formative evaluation focuses on the process while
summative evaluation focuses on the outcomes.
“When the cook tastes the soup, that’s formative
when the guests taste the soup that’s summative.”

30. FORMATIVE EVALUATION
•On-going, and used t continually improve a project
while it is in-progress.
•Process-oriented in that it looks at how the
learning process is going, and what needs to be
modified to improve the outcomes.

31. SUMMATIVE EVALUATION
• Conducted at the end of a program to gauge the quality
of a completed project.
• Product-oriented in that it looks at finished product-what
has been learned or accomplished.
• Based on external criteria such as grades or educational
standards as a means of measurement.
• More prescribed and formal.
