The polymetal complex ore Umm-Gheig considered in Egypt as a rather rich source of lead and zinc is subjected to mineralogical, chemical, spectral, X-ray and differential thermal analyses. Hydrometallurgical treatments based on leaching, precipitation and electrodeposition of metal from the ore are established. The influences of current density, temperature and metal ion concentration on the Faradic current efficiency are discussed. Advantages and disadvantages of flowsheets and various approaches depending on convenient baths for the electro-deposition of metals are investigated. The results of electron microscopic investigation confirmed by metal value data given in the A.S.T.M. cards coincide well with those given by chemical analysis

Abstract

Electrodeposition of lead and its dioxide from Egyptial carbonate ore residuum (Article) Acid-leach residue resulting from the sulphate roasting of Zn-Pb Egyptial carbonate ore is used for the production of lead, after hydrometallurgical treatments. Studies to investigate various baths for the deposition of lead and lead dioxide have been carried out. The results showed a wide variety of electrolysis, either soluble simple salts, or those containing complex anions and in virtually all cases, very high current efficiencies are obtained. The effects of various factors on the electrodeposition of Pb and PbO2 are discussed. In commercial practice, the properties and service requirements dictate the precise electrolyte that should be used since the properties of electrodeposited lead vary with the baths. Mechanism of the electrolytic production of the element and its dioxide is discussed. The results spectrophotometric and chemical analyses revealed that the purity of the metal is > 99%.

Sensors are needed convert real life quantities into signal variations and hence has a very high importance. Or-ganics semiconductors have their own advantages, which can be exploited to create sensors. One of the mostly used sensor based on organic materials is the Organic Field-Effect Transistor (OFET). The channel material made from the organic compound interacts with the analyte and in turn causes variations in the device parameters. The major applications of OFET sensors are as bio-sensors, chemical, and gas sensors. Bio-sensors helps in disease diagnostics by detecting DNA, proteins, enzymes etc. Chemical sensors are used to find out the presence of ions, humidity, and pH levels. To get more information, furthur discussion is about a single OFET sensor fabricated with P3HT and CuTPP used for detecting nitro-based explosive compounds. OFET sensors are very promising and could be used in real applications in near future.

Power generation by cheap and relatively abundant source of microbes has been investigated. This form of renewable energy is gaining grounds in the world of energy technology. Microbial fuel cell (MFC) technology signifies a new source for the generation of electricity from microbes found in wastewater. The current study deals with performance of ion exchange partition and its viable candidature in power production. The effect of operational parameters on electricity generation and COD consumption was reported. A maximum voltage of 1.3 V was observed at 40 % H2O2 along with wastewater from GGBL in an anode chamber. Average COD removal was more than 88%.

Complexes of metal ions with organic ligands play an important role in many fields of our life.These metal complexes are widely used in medical diagnosis and therapeutic analysis. These complexes are very familiar with radioisotopes exerting precise chemical and physical properties. Generally, chromium is considered as toxic and essential element depending on its oxidation state in the biological system. Here the dynamic dissociation constants of the complex of Chromium (III) with excellent biocompatible polymer PVP (poly-N-vinylpyrolidone) have been determined. The dissociation constants will give us the idea about the stability of the said complexes. As PVP is a good ligand with different metals within a wide range of pH. Ingestion techniques of radioisotopes to the biological systems may be nicely polished with the knowledge of this kinetic study with chromium. Green methods have been carried out during the whole period of the experiments to maintain the environmental friendly aspects.

ANALYSIS OF PH ON PLASMA ACTIVATED MEDIUM IN AQUEOUS SOLUTION IN COLD ATMOSPH...

Cold Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Jets (CAPPJs) was generated by using column dielectric barrier discharge has been investigated. In this study, we evaluated the ability of plasma jet to decrease the pH in aqueous solutions. Plasma jet was generated by a sinusoidal AC high voltage at 12 kV and at frequency 26 kHz. Plasma activated medium (PAM) was produced by exposing aquadest water to the CAPPJs. The duration of exposing plasma jet was set at 5 minutes to 35 minutes, with an interval of 5 minutes. Plasma exposures were performed at the distance at 2 cm between plasma jet tube output and the upper surface of the liquid medium. On the results obtained in this experiment, the pH values at 2.7 in plasma-activated medium with exposure of plasma jet. We found that the pH of PAM decrease by a duration of exposure plasma jet. Cold Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Jets can significantly decrease the pH in aqueous solutions.

Electrolytic recovery of antimony from natural stibnite ore

Stibnite ore at Wadi Abu Quraiya, situated in the central Eastern Desert of Egypt has been subjected to petrographical, mineralogical, infrared, X-ray diffraction, chemical and spectral analyses. Hydrometallurgical treatment based on leaching with acids, precipitation and electrodeposition of metal values from the ore have been developed. Studies to investigate suitable electrolytic baths for the cathodic deposition of metallic antimony either directly from the leach liquor or in the presence of complexing agents have been carded out. The influence of various factors on the electrodeposition process of the element from its electrolyte solutions is discussed. Advantages of the flowsheet and various approaches depending on convenient electrolytes for the deposition of antimony from the stibnite ore have been investigated. The results of spectrophotometric and chemical analyses revealed that the purity of the metal is > 99%. Keywords: stibnite; leaching; antimony extraction

Experimental and Theoretical Investigation of Thiazolyl Blue as a Corrosion I...

The anticorrosion effect of thiazolyl blue (MTT) for copper in 3% NaCl at 298 K was researched by electrochemical methods, scanning electron-microscopy (SEM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The results reveal that MTT can protect copper efficiently, with a maximum efficiency of 95.7%. The corrosion inhibition mechanism was investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier transform infrared spectral (FT-IR), and theoretical calculation. The results suggest that the MTT molecules are adsorbed on metal surface forming a hydrophobic protective film to prevent copper corrosion. It also indicates that the MTT and copper form covalent bonds. The molecular dynamic simulation further gives the evidence for adsorption. The adsorption isotherm studies demonstrate that a spontaneous, mixed physical and chemical adsorption occurs, which obeys Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The present research can help us better understand the corrosion inhibition process and improve it.

Characterization and Dielectric Study of Mihaliccik Tremolite

The natural tremolite Ca2Mg5Si8O22 OH 2 was obtained from Mihaliccik district of Eskisehir, Turkey 39.8787N 31.3806E . It is a part of the amphibole family of silicate minerals. All the phases were described by X ray diffraction XRD , energy dispersive spectroscopy EDXRF , Raman, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy FTIR . The natural tremolite specimen used in this study includes mostly 54.4 SiO2, 22.82 MgO, 15.04 CaO, and 1.45 Al2O3. The natural tremolite sample used for the present investigation was not pure. The impurity was calcite. The FTIR spectrum and the Raman spectrum were recorded for natural tremolite sample in the range of 4000 and 350 cm 1 and 4000 and 70 cm 1 at room temperature, respectively. The natural tremolite and fired tremolite samples were prepared for this investigation. Dielectric measurements were realized in the 3 kHz ' 1 MHz frequency region and at the room temperature by using HP4192A LF Impedance Analyzer. The dielectric parameters of the samples were obtained the conclusions of the study were explained and given to be used for further investigations in some industrial productions. Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software Fuzzing

Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process. In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds. - These are slides of the talk given at IEEE International Conference on Software Testing Verification and Validation Workshop, ICSTW 2022.

This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).
