2. The pictures I have taken of my model for this
coursework was taken inside, using a white backdrop
as the background in order to give the images a
professional and effective look. Using the white
backdrop benefited the picture in many ways, one of
which is that there were no other objects in the
background that interfered with the main image. So
therefore, the background enabled the taken image to
be directly focused on my artist and not be distracted
by any other obstacles in the surrounding background.
Also, the background made the editing more easier
and faster as there was only the need of removing
the whiteness in the back when necessary, whereas if
the backdrop wasn’t used, I would have spent the
majority of my time editing out unnecessary objects
that interfered in the picture, which could have caused
the ending result to be unprofessional like. By using a
backdrop it allowed my artist to stand out and be
attractive as the costume that was worn contrasted
with the plain background.
The use of lighting varied when taking these pictures
as some where taken using the ambient lighting in
the room and some with a spot light. Both ways were
tested out and compared the pictures to see what
was more suitable an made the artist stand out more
in the image, without the disturbance of any shadows
or reflection in the background.
