Pastor Myles takes us through the story of Jesus and the blindman found in John 9. Pastor Myles shows us that the blindman had everything to loose but followed with and made Jesus everything and challenges us to make Jesus our everything.
This week we will look at GEFC's second core value, a commitment to prayer. Jesus provides us with a "Master Class" on prayer. He prayed in a wide variety of settings and circumstances. By observing and learning from His prayer life we can be schooled in prayer - the conduit of divine power in the life of the believer.
Watch, Listen, Learn, a sermon on Mark 9, was originally preached May 29, 2016 at Crosspoint Bible Church in Omaha, NE by Dr. Don L. Pahl. It is part of the Marked as Disciples series.

Mary Magdalene in the Bible, a presentation used for a KS2 Primary School Assembly on Mary Magdalene.
The presentation includes a prayer at the end, and could be followed by a suitable hymn (we used 'O Jesus I have promised').
The resurrection of Jesus Christ changed the lives of those who believed on Him. To those who hurt, who sorrow, who fear and to those who doubt the fact of Jesus' resurrection irrevocably, eternally changed them. He still changes lives today. He can change yours also.
Teaching Pastor, Michael Sabo, delivers an Easter sermon and teaches about the disciple Thomas and his pessimistic attitude. He ends with an admonition to remember Jesus' words to not be faithless any longer. Believe!

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

2. Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene
came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw
that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. So
she ran and went to Simon Peter and the other
disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them,
“They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do
not know where they have laid him.” So Peter went
out with the other disciple, and they were going
toward the tomb. Both of them were running together,
but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the
tomb first. And stooping to look in, he saw the linen
cloths lying there, but he did not go in. Then Simon
Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He
saw the linen cloths lying there, and the face cloth,
which had been on Jesus' head, not lying with the
linen cloths but folded up in a place by itself.
3. Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb
first, also went in, and he saw and believed; for as yet
they did not understand the Scripture, that he must
rise from the dead. Then the disciples went back to
their homes.
But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she
wept she stooped to look into the tomb. And she saw
two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus
had lain, one at the head and one at the feet. They
said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said
to them, “They have taken away my Lord, and I do not
know where they have laid him.” Having said this, she
turned around and saw Jesus standing, but she did not
know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, “Woman, why
are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Supposing
him to be the gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you
have carried him away, tell me where you have laid
him, and I will take him away.”
4. Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned and
said to him in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which
means Teacher). Jesus said to her, “Do
not cling to me, for I have not yet
ascended to the Father; but go to my
brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending
to my Father and your Father, to my God
and your God.’” Mary Magdalene went
and announced to the disciples, “I have
seen the Lord”—and that he had said
these things to her.
John 20:1-18 (ESV)
6. I. Jesus appears to Mary Magdalene
II. Jesus appears to two disciples
7. After these things he appeared in
another form to two of them, as
they were walking into the country.
And they went back and told the
rest, but they did not believe them.
Mark 16:12-13 (ESV)
8. I. Jesus appears to Mary Magdalene
II. Jesus appears to two disciples
III. Jesus appears to the eleven
9. Afterward he appeared to the eleven
themselves as they were reclining at
table, and he rebuked them for their
unbelief and hardness of heart,
because they had not believed those
who saw him after he had risen. And
he said to them, “Go into all the world
and proclaim the gospel to the whole
creation.
10. Whoever believes and is baptized will
be saved, but whoever does not
believe will be condemned. And these
signs will accompany those who
believe: in my name they will cast out
demons; they will speak in new
tongues; they will pick up serpents
with their hands; and if they drink any
deadly poison, it will not hurt them;
they will lay their hands on the sick,
and they will recover.”
11. So then the Lord Jesus, after he had
spoken to them, was taken up into
heaven and sat down at the right hand
of God. And they went out and
preached everywhere, while the Lord
worked with them and confirmed the
message by accompanying signs.
Mark 16:14-20 (ESV)
12. Mary Magdalene:
• She was mourning His death, and
in her grief she didn’t recognize
Jesus!
• When she heard Him call her by her
own name, she RECOGNIZED
JESUS!
• After she recognized Jesus, He gave
her an assignment – GO TELL
OTHERS!
13. Two disciples on the road:
• They RECOGNIZED JESUS when
they REMEMBERED Him
(communion).
• They remarked that their hearts
had “burned within them” as Jesus
opened His Word to them.
• This was more than “Bible study”
15. Jesus appears to the eleven:
• They RECOGNIZED JESUS when
they were “assembled together”
(community).
• Jesus came to them and brought
His PEACE & PROOF.
• Jesus “opened their minds so they
could understand the Scriptures.”
• Jesus commissioned them.
