It notes that historically, agencies did not provide clients with a full understanding of the creative process or ideas, and clients did not know how to properly evaluate work. It advocates that agencies start presentations with the agreed upon creative brief to provide necessary context before presenting ideas. Agencies should tell a story that bridges the brief to the final idea, giving clients a complete understanding. The document also provides models for properly evaluating ideas and ensuring collaborative discussions between agencies and clients.

Building A Strong Engineering Culture - my talk from BBC Develop 2013Kevin Goldsmith
This is the keynote talk I gave at the BBC Develop conference in London, UK in November of 2013. In it I talk about what I believe makes a strong engineering culture, how to protect it if you have it, and how to fix it if you don't. I use a lot of examples from Spotify (where I am a Director of Engineering). As usual, I go a bit light on the bullets, since I prefer to talk, but I think you can still get the gist of my points.

Others seek innovation and fulfilment by spending more time in research, being more inclusive, and designing for social goods.
Experience is more than just an interface. It is a relationship, as well as a series of touch points between your brand and your customer. Here are our top 10 highlights and takeaways from the recent UX Australia conference to help you transform your customer experience design.

5. Every company has a culture whether intentional or not. That culture usually determines
whether you look forward to coming in or dreading it. Every single team member contributes
to that culture and helps to foster it. The intention is important when creating that culture.
People want to be part of a culture and environment that they identify with.
What does a company’s culture say about it? Is a company
known for its creativity, innovation, collaboration, fun-loving
spirit? Or is it seen as more rigid, serious, and uptight?
The answer will determine how well employees perform on
the job and how much value they bring to the organization
overall. It also affects what kind of talent you attract —
and keep— in an increasingly competitive marketplace
where attracting top talent means competing against
other companies who are likely offering better pay
packages but also have cultures that appeal more
strongly to potential hires!
How can you improve your existing corporate culture
so it becomes one of strength rather than weakness?
By understanding what makes up good corporate cultures
in general—and then applying those principles specifically
within your own organization so everyone feels like
they belong there…that their work matters…that their
ideas matter…that their opinions matter! And by doing
this intentionally instead of accidentally over time because
“this is just the way we do things around here” without
ever really thinking about why or if there might be.

However, we believe that real estate investing is deeper than
just financial returns, it is the true pride of ownership.
We are driven every day to create not only lucrative returns
for our members but also to deliver exceptional experiences
and positively impact the communities in which
we live and operate.
Airbnb is the modern
and more lucrative
take on real estate,
the most historic asset
for wealth generation.
We are revolutionizing
this untapped market
and leveling the playing
field through advanced

At reAlpha, we are driven to achieve something bigger than ourselves.
So, when we set out to create our mission statement, we wanted
it to be impactful, wide-reaching and also easy to relate to.
For us, our brand and our mission are not just marketing tools.
They’re a part of our core culture, our values, and are the foundation
for every decision we make. It’s how we clearly communicate
what we stand for to the world, not just internally.
It’s our image and our image is who we are.

15. Our mission is to
empower everyone
to invest in real.
Real people.
Real assets.
Real moments.
We live in a world where the rollercoaster of crypto
and meme stocks and perpetual rentership are status quo.
We want to reinvent what it means to invest in real assets
and who has the opportunity to invest in them.
reAlpha is the modern take on the most historic asset and we
are building this company to empower everyone to invest in real.

of the most driven and talented individuals in 14 countries across
the globe. We work together to radically change wealth creation
by democratizing investing. But at reAlpha, investing isn’t just
about money, and people aren’t just those within our company.
To us, investing means dedicating time and attention to the
people whom we impact, whether they’re investors, members,
or a part of the broader community in which we operate.
Success begins
and ends with people.

25. The best ideas don’t come
from behind closed doors.
They come from violent
agreements* in open rooms
scattered with colorful post-it notes.
We collaborate on everything from
global strategies to lunch plans.
*Violent agreements: When two or more passionate
individuals are debating a topic and don’t realize
they are saying the exact same thing in different ways.

as “stay in your lane.”
Everybody works together to get
sh*t done without regard for title.
So throw your “job description”

33. The development and utilization of patented technologies
are the backbone of our company. Without our people,
our technology would not exist. We have built state-of-the-art
platforms designed for the benefit of our customers. And it’s not
just about our technology. We aren’t just a platform for investing,
we are an opportunity to provide ownership over something
as real as the roof over your head. Our properties represent
stability in a market overflowing with the latestand trendiest,
which oftentimes are hyper-volatile options.
Our structure is grounded, literally.
Our assets are our
customers’ assets.

strategy. We must actively work
to never lose that.
You wouldn’t work here
if we didn’t want to hear your
opinion, but it’s on you to make your
opinion compelling and actionable.
Literally anything goes, as long
as you can pitch it.

43. And our assets create the reAlpha experience. At reAlpha,
our assets are tactile, yes, but they carry deeper intrinsic
value than just a sensory component. They create something
invaluable, something beyond returns.
They create moments.
Moments are what shape your world and stay with you for
a lifetime...much longer than money can stay in your pocket.
By delivering exceptional and unique stay experiences,
we give our guests, members, and shareholders the opportunity
to experience one-of-a-kind moments and create lasting
memories again and again.

Forget that crap.
Let’s take a look at reAlpha’s KPIs for success….
Employees:
One more employee empowered holds
the key to reAlpha’s future.
“I think I have a great idea.”
Members:
One more user is another person working toward
financial freedom and experiencing the pride of ownership.
“Hey mom & dad, why don’t you go
stay at my property for the weekend.”
Guests:
One more booking at a reAlpha property is a memory made.
“Remember that time…?”
These little moments are the metric of success for our
big ideas. One idea. One conversation. One night’s stay.
