This document discusses different types of real numbers. There are two main types of real numbers - rational numbers and irrational numbers. Rational numbers can be written as a ratio of two integers and when expressed as decimals are either terminating or repeating. Irrational numbers cannot be written as a ratio of integers and their decimal representations are non-terminating and non-repeating. Some examples of rational numbers given are 16, 1/2, 3.56, -8, 1.3333..., -3/4. Examples of irrational numbers include square roots of non-perfect squares and Pi. Integers are also discussed as being a subset of rational numbers where they are the whole numbers and their opposites.
