PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Alcon has its own ware house named Commercial Data ware house (CDW) which is
supporting for key business decisions through BI reporting tool. Alcon promotes its
products through Sale Representatives, who will schedule product demo with health
organizations or professionals. Tableau is the BI reporting tool which has two levels of
reporting, one at territory level and other at national level. CDW has different layers like
Staging, ODS, IDS and EDM out of which EDM is used for reporting purpose.
Enhancements in business reporting make creation of new projects at Alcon which
includes testing all layers in CDW.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE PROJECT:
Ramu was part of Alcon team and has complete ownership on one of the applications
named Affiliate commercial leadership. He was responsible for test plan creation based
on analysis of requirements. Responsible to create test cases/scenarios and get it
reviewed from business team. He was subject matter expert at offshore for Alcon
business. He was also responsible to migrate to code form Dev. to SIT environment
using Informatica tool. Also, ran respective workflows and validated source and target
data to ensure data is flowed without any errors. He was responsible to review team
members’ deliverables and send weekly status to onsite and project stakeholders.

TIAA-CREF (Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association - College Retirement Equities
Fund) is one of the largest financial services companies in the United States. The
organization helps meet the financial needs of approximately 3.6 million individuals and
15,000 institutions in the academic, research, medical, cultural and non-profit fields.
Much of TIAA-CREF operates on a non-profit basis, with surplus returned to participants.
TIAA-CREF is headquartered in New York City and has major offices in Denver, Colorado;
Charlotte, North Carolina; and Dallas, Texas; as well as 60 local offices throughout the
United States.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
TIAA has its own Enterprise data ware house (EDW), which is structured in three layers
viz.Extact, Base and Semantic. EDW sources data from many upstream systems
predominantly from SunGard OMNI and rest are banking and Siebel. These entire
sources intern get data from end user applications like Individual Web Center,
Transactional portal, Unified Desktop, Plan sponsor site etc. EDW runs on teradata
platform which is an efficient vendor for data analytics. Other data store systems like
Operational data store and Mega data management systems run on Oracle platform.
Majority of the EDW data is being used for Employee Retirement Income Security act
(ERISA) reporting.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE PROJECT:
Ramu was part of EDW team and was coordinating with Business Analyst for
requirement clarifications. He was responsible to create test scenarios and cases and
giving walkthrough on the same to onsite. He was attending daily stand up call. He was
responsible to create SQL’s and validate different layers in EDW for referential integrity,
data flow accuracy and data quality. Teradata SQL query assistant is used to fetch data
from database and validated ERISA reports in OBIEE tool. He was responsible to log
defects in application life cycle management tool and provide justification to project
team in defect triage meeting. He was leading EDW team and responsible for reviewing
artefacts created by team members. He was responsible for project estimates and
resolving issues within team. He was also responsible creation of value-ads to clients.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
MetLife provides disability products for individuals as well as employee and association
groups who receive them through their employer. For individuals, the company’s
individual disability income insurance can replace a portion of lost income if an individual
is unable to work due to sickness or injury. For groups, MetLife offers short term
disability insurance and long term disability insurance. Short term disability insurance is
structured to replace a portion of an individual’s income during the initial weeks of a
disabling illness or accident. Long term disability Insurance serves to replace a portion of
an individual’s income during an extended period of a disabling illness or accident The
Company also maintains an absence management product known as Leave intake
service application (LISA) which allows employers to track and manage both planned and
unplanned employee absences.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE PROJECT:
Ramu was a team member in Disability team and was responsible for analysing
requirements and raise ambiguities to onsite (if any) through ambiguity tracker tool. He
is also responsible for designing scenarios and test cases based on use cases provided.
He was responsible to validate UAT scenarios in LISA application and document the
observations (if any). All the valid issues are tracked in Quality Center tool after
confirmation from onsite. He is also responsible to daily status to offshore lead.
