A cost structure study for French HSS journalsOpenEdition
The editorial contents in SSH are produced by public fundsThe main editorial cost is the salary of the copy editor.Commercial publisher when appears is primarily operating as a printer, and/or a distributor
The most important part of the publishing cost of an article is the salary of the copy editor:
The average time required for copy editing tasks per journal and per year is 10.5 months as for the 50 journals of our sample. The editor’s tasks we are talking about are: managing articles from their selection to their expertise (through peer review), rewrite some of the work, check critical apparatus and add missing references, copy edit, structure files through single source publishing process (with TEI-XML tools for example) and prepare paper and/or digital formats.10.5 months makes an average of 42.000€ a year (salary). We can conclude that the median cost for 1 item (article) produced in SSH is 1.330€ (minimum cost is 500 and maximum 4.000), and the median cost for 1 page is 66€ (minimum cost is 5 and maximum 200).
The share of the cost for the print, broadcast and distribution is not predominant in relation to the salary of the editor:
The response we got from 25 of the journals is that the yearly average cost for printing and distribution is 11.200€

Challenges and Solutions in Creating a European Historic newspapers Browser TU Delft, Netherlands
As part of the Europeana Newspapers project, an interface is being developed to search over up to 18m pages of historic newspapers digitised by European libraries. This presentation looks at the issues in developing an 'international' interface
Researchers require infrastructures that ensure a maximum of accessibility, stability and reliability to facilitate working with and sharing of research data. Such infrastructures are being increasingly summarised under the term Research Data Repositories (RDR). The project re3data.org – Registry of Research Data Repositories – began to index research data repositories in 2012 and offers researchers, funding organisations, libraries and publishers an overview of the heterogeneous research data repository landscape. In December 2014 re3data.org listed more than 1,030 research data repositories, which are described in detail using the re3data.org schema (http://dx.doi.org/10.2312/re3.003). Information icons help researchers to identify easily an adequate repository for the storage and reuse of their data. This talk describes the heterogeneous RDR landscape and presents a typology of institutional, disciplinary, multidisciplinary and project-specific RDR. Further, it outlines the features of re3data. org and it shows current developments for integration into data management planning tools and other services.
By the end of 2015 re3data.org and Databib (Purdue University, USA) will merge their services, which will then be managed under the auspices of DataCite. The aim of this merger is to reduce duplication of effort and to serve the research community better with a single, sustainable registry of research data repositories. The talk will present this organisational development as a best practice example for the development of international research information services.

Unveiling the Secrets How Does Generative AI Work.pdfSam H
At its core, generative artificial intelligence relies on the concept of generative models, which serve as engines that churn out entirely new data resembling their training data. It is like a sculptor who has studied so many forms found in nature and then uses this knowledge to create sculptures from his imagination that have never been seen before anywhere else. If taken to cyberspace, gans work almost the same way.

Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,

Memorandum Of Association Constitution of Company.pptseri bangash
www.seribangash.com
A Memorandum of Association (MOA) is a legal document that outlines the fundamental principles and objectives upon which a company operates. It serves as the company's charter or constitution and defines the scope of its activities. Here's a detailed note on the MOA:
Contents of Memorandum of Association:
Name Clause: This clause states the name of the company, which should end with words like "Limited" or "Ltd." for a public limited company and "Private Limited" or "Pvt. Ltd." for a private limited company.
https://seribangash.com/article-of-association-is-legal-doc-of-company/
Registered Office Clause: It specifies the location where the company's registered office is situated. This office is where all official communications and notices are sent.
Objective Clause: This clause delineates the main objectives for which the company is formed. It's important to define these objectives clearly, as the company cannot undertake activities beyond those mentioned in this clause.
www.seribangash.com
Liability Clause: It outlines the extent of liability of the company's members. In the case of companies limited by shares, the liability of members is limited to the amount unpaid on their shares. For companies limited by guarantee, members' liability is limited to the amount they undertake to contribute if the company is wound up.
https://seribangash.com/promotors-is-person-conceived-formation-company/
Capital Clause: This clause specifies the authorized capital of the company, i.e., the maximum amount of share capital the company is authorized to issue. It also mentions the division of this capital into shares and their respective nominal value.
Association Clause: It simply states that the subscribers wish to form a company and agree to become members of it, in accordance with the terms of the MOA.
Importance of Memorandum of Association:
Legal Requirement: The MOA is a legal requirement for the formation of a company. It must be filed with the Registrar of Companies during the incorporation process.
Constitutional Document: It serves as the company's constitutional document, defining its scope, powers, and limitations.
Protection of Members: It protects the interests of the company's members by clearly defining the objectives and limiting their liability.
External Communication: It provides clarity to external parties, such as investors, creditors, and regulatory authorities, regarding the company's objectives and powers.
https://seribangash.com/difference-public-and-private-company-law/
Binding Authority: The company and its members are bound by the provisions of the MOA. Any action taken beyond its scope may be considered ultra vires (beyond the powers) of the company and therefore void.
Amendment of MOA:
While the MOA lays down the company's fundamental principles, it is not entirely immutable. It can be amended, but only under specific circumstances and in compliance with legal procedures. Amendments typically require shareholder

While the dominant form of scholarly book publishing in the future will clearly be digital,
as a practical matter university presses today still get at least 90 to 95 percent of their sales
revenue from printed books, even as the market for scholarly monographs continues to
shrink. University presses also operate in an institutional environment that regards publishing
on a break-even basis (including subsidy) as virtuous, even if that means losing ground to
inflation. The combination of these factors means that it is virtually impossible for university
presses to generate surplus investment capital from current operations.
Proposals and plans for new business models should explicitly address two issues: the
potential impact of the new model on existing parts of the press’s program and the
requirements, both operational and financial, for making the transition to the new model.
Ideally the consideration of these issues would involve the relevant author community as well
as the press, its partners such as libraries or societies, and the funding agency.
Open Access in European Networks (OAPEN),
seeks to develop a new model for the open access university press by supporting publication
through a combination of publication fees, grant support, and institutional support
The OAPEN publication model is being promoted through several pilot projects in different
European countries. In the Netherlands, a pilot program including 50 books will be published
over the next two years, with funding from the Dutch national research council. A similar pilot in
the UK will be managed by JISC
