Web 2.0 refers to changes in World Wide Web technology and was coined at an O'Reilly conference. Web 1.0 preceded it. A web is a system of documents on the internet, email allows written communication through servers, and chat enables real-time online conversations. Forums allow discussion of topics, blogs display comments and media in reverse chronological order by authors, and wikis are collaboratively edited pages. Forums have public discussions, blogs can be private with authors and comments, and wikis enable many people to jointly write and edit articles.
