- 2. 1. WHAT ISYOUR GENDER? Myself (SA) and Monisha Roy, have decided that our Questionnaire 1 will consist of precisely 100 participants of which 50 will be female and the remaining half male. We have both chosen to construct our questionnaire in this particular style , as it will determine a clear view on film admiration from both genders. We have used bar charts in the following slides where male participants are represented in grey and female in orange colors furthermore allowing us to compare their responses enabling us to see if the stereotypical approach society takes on representation of gender views on film is honest or not. For example, stereotypically the male gender is represented to be drawn towards action movies rather then the romance genre. This could perhaps represent a mans physical strength hinting at the dominance over women and their emotional instabilities represented within most, if not all films. Usually woman represented as damsel in distress and dependent of a man to rescue them. Stereotypically woman are represented to be drawn into the romance genre which in society’s view conveys woman’s aspirations in life overall; they are represented as the weaker sex. However within our questionnaire, you will find that the responses from our participants beat this stereotype therefore this task was incredibly beneficial. Male Female

PLEASE STATEYOUR AGE 0 10 20 YEAR 7 YEAR 8 YEAR 9 YEAR 10 YEAR 11 SIXTH FORM University… Staff Retired FEMALE MALE To begin with we have also decided to hand out our questionnaire within school facilities to participants ranging from Year 7 (11 years old) to staff ( the oldest 54 years old). However we believed that it is also important to handout our questionnaire to participants outside of school facilities, such as family members (retired) and random people within our community fitting to the age ranges. We believe that the wide range of opinions from all age groups will allow us to gain a wider understanding of the differences of film admiration.

For example is a participant does not watch movies their responses to our question may be dishonest and not as effective. Therefore before we handed out our questionnaire, we have asked weather the participant actually watches movies at all. As you can tell from the bar chart displayed on the left hand side, we have no participants included that do not watch movies. We believe that this made our collected data reliable and efficient.

We do not have famous actors within out film therefore our group has decided to promote our short film through Movie Posters as well as a Film Review.

- 9. 8.) WHAT GENREFILMS DO YOU DISLIKE? WHAT MAKES THESE MOVIES YOUR LEAST FAVORITE?! AND QUESTION 9.) 9. WHAT ARE YOUR 3 LEAST FAVORITE MOVIES AND TO WHICH GENRE WOULD YOU SAY THEY BELONG TO? According to question 6, myself (SA) and Monisha Roy (MR) have gathered that the majority of participants had shown less/lack of interest in the Western, Biography, Musical weather female or male. The list of movies displayed below emphasizes our evidence conducted throughout our Questionnaire 1. • Twilight (Romance, Fantasy) and High School Musical (Romance, Musical) – Even though our previous bar chart conducted within question 6 suggested that Western, Biography and Musical are our participants least favorite movie genres, and even though the Romance genre is displayed to be highly admired, we have found that particular films belonging to that genre such as Twilight and High School Musical, as examples are shockingly disliked. Below are some of the example answers of why these two example movies are disliked as well other example movie. Participant 1: Christian – High School Musical just annoys me. I hate the fact that people would just start and break out singing and dancing in the middle of their sentence. Not realistic whatsoever people do not do that in real life. I found that when I got to High School myself and it was nothing like that. Disappointed ha ha ha! Participant 2: Chad – Twilight is a ridiculously stupid movie as the plot is cliché and boring due to the very predictable story and lack of relatable characters. The choice of actors and actresses is completely stupid as they have no EMOTION. Participant 3: Meredith – Twilight is a stupid cliché with nothing relatable at all. The fact that the vampire sparkles and all we see of the werewolf is his abs most of the time proves to us all that the film is stupid and has no storyline. As well as that, it implies that women are always craving men and need them to survive. OVERALL, the film is filled with poop. Participants 4: Han-Sun - I am a fan of the HSM movies, BUT was disappointed with the last one (number 3). I feel like the storyline didn’t focus much on the other characters but only on gabriella’s story. It didn’t have the same comedy as the previous movies and seemed more serious. It was something unexpected and not enjoyable. The movie ended with a cliché of them singing altogether. It was a predictable ending.

HOWDO YOU ACCESS FILMS? 0 10 20 30 ONLINE CINEMA DVD TV FEMALE MALE Clearly we are unable to display our short film on TV or cinema therefore we have decided for our distribution method we would record our film on a CD/DVD and our main distribution will be online. We have also considered showing the recorded CD/DVD of our final product during a school assembly therefore we can gain audience feedback.
