SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
                 PRACTICES
• Sustainable development
    at the university:

    – Bicycle lending program.
    – Sharing car program.
    – Conferences about
      renewable energy.
    – Ecological exhibition.
    – Faculty formation.
    – Virtual information.
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
                 PRACTICES
• Sustainable development
    at the city:

    – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
    – Recycling bins / recycling
      containers.
    – Renewing energies: solar
      energy, wind power…
    – Public information.
    – Bus line.
REALITY
• Transport:
   – The 75% of the people who work at the
city centre go there by car and don’t
       use public transport.
   – Some public transports are more
       expensive than private ones.
   – The transport net is really weak.
• Recycling:
   – There are not enough recycling
       containers.
   – The people have to be more aware of
the options and the city facilities to
       recycle.
• Renewable energy:
   – There are many uses of renewable
       energies in public establishments such
as parking meters, libraries or traffic
signs; but there can be others.
NEED TO BE IMPROVED
• Participatory democracy:
     – is a process emphasizing the broad
participation of constituents in the direction
         and operation of political systems.
• Public awareness:
     – Information policies addressed to the
inhabitants of the city. If the citizens are
informed ,they will be willing to participate.
• New uses of the organic waste.
     – It can be used to create compost by
cooperatives to improve the soil and reduce
your use of fertilizer and water.
• Public transport policies:
     – For example: Creating a big public parking at
the outskirts, so cars can be parked outside
         town and take public transports.
     – A good transport net.
     – Unify transport tickets, so one ticket can be
used for the train, the metro , the bus…
• Incentives to renewable energy uses.
• Test methods by constant feedbacks.
A SMALL THING CAN CHANGE THE
           WORLD
