The origin of my magazine
 I wanted to create my music magazine as a
representation of indie pop and indie music
in general. Therefore the magazine needed
to be authentic and simple…
 As I found in my research, the front cover of a magazine
is used to catch the readers eye and draw them inside
the magazine. Therefore I needed to implement these
features into my magazine to be successful.
• Masthead – Clear
and Big to be seen
easily by the
audience. Stands out
from the rest of the
page and gives the
magazine its identity.
• Main photo – The
main feature article
photograph works well
and is eye catching as
it revolves around the
rest of the text and
pulls everything
together allowing it to
stand out more.
 On the contents page I created several
sections with subheadings to allow the reader
to easily navigate around the magazine and
know what's inside the magazine.
I used the header ‘contents’ as the
title for the page. This gives the
page its identity and allows the
reader to know which page it is, it
also gives the magazine more of a
brand identity.
I used this section in
my contents page to
easily arrange all the
articles and features
into sections. This
means that it is
visually pleasing for
the audience and they
would easily be able
to find what they’re
looking for. It also
allows the reader to
develop an interest in
their favourite part of
the magazine.
