Evaluation Question 2
How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
Masthead
The masthead is for both the website and the magazine are both in the top section
Of the products to ensure that brand is recognised straight away and create a proffesional
Look and theme for the magazine . The only difference between the two mastheads is
The colour to contrast the different backgrounds.
Advertisement
The Billboard I made advertises images of both my magazine and my website
To advertise the platforms that the magazine can be accessed on, the billboard
Containing both the magazine and the website shows how all the products link
Together, on my website there is also the opportunity to subscribe to the magazine
Making it easier for the reader to access the product monthly
Masthead
My masthead stays consistent throughout , my front cover , contents page , website
And billboard. This is so the audience is able to draw connections between all three
Products and establish a clear understanding of the magazine brand to establish a
Brand image. In each platform I made sure that made sure that the masthead contrasted
The background to make it bold.
Website
My website address is on my contents page and my billboard, this allows the audience
To establish a link between all platforms as all of them are recognised as ‘kent Impluse’
Images
I placed the main image on my website on my contents page to create a theme
Of consistency throughout, showing that the online issue and the print issue
Contain bits of the same information but are also different.
Colour
I tried to keep the colour schemes on the three different platforms similar, by using black
And white with the addition of some subtle colours to bring some warmth to the page.
However the masthead on each platform remains either black or white to keep
Professionalism.
In conclusion
In conclusion, my website and magazine contain many similarities in order
For the audience to be able to recognise the links between the products. This
Is important due to the fact many people now prefer to follow digital versions
Of products rather than physical copies. Therefore the website had to present
The same qaulity as the physical magazine.
The billboard is used to advertise the magazine it contains both examples of the
Print version of the magazine and the website so that a wider audience can see the
Different platforms it can be viewed on.
Each of my productions help to promote eachother creating a larger reader base,
Combining all my media products helps the readers make a connection between
All the products.
