1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

2. Music Video In order to conform with techniques used in other music videos we put the memories in black and white in order to make it clear that they were memories. Taylor Swifts video for example made everything a bit washed out for the memories. We also used the clock as an Iconic piece to the video as it represented the idea that time was running out for him. As the song we chose didn’t have an original video we thought this was a chance to incorporate aspects of existing videos into a new narrative.

3. Album Cover When researching the album covers we noticed that the “indie” genres sometimes have some kind of cartoon theme to them. We therefore decided to play with the band name and used monkeys on the front cover. A lot of the back covers we researched somehow related to the front cover and therefore by having the huge image of the monkey head on the back we kept continuity between the front and back.

4. Poster We used all of the conventions that the hmv posters use by imitating the icons they use for their posters. We decided it best to stick to the stereotypical approach to the style that those of a “Indie” by using the classical indie style of clothes etc.
