Firstly, we're all used to seeing brands sponsoring entertainment as a means to get their logo and messaging in front of consumer eyeballs now brands are becoming destination sites and platforms for entertainment, in and of themselves.
2- Branded fun for new brand fans

Branded Entertainment - Love at every sitepsambrakos
In an age where consumers are more powerful than ever, and have almost unlimited choices of how to spend their time, brands should stop trying to interrupt them, and instead should try to produce content that is appealing enough for people to want to watch on their own. Even more, brands should strive to produce content that consumers would want to recommend to their friends, and content that will get them involved and talking about it through social media. Brands should aim to produce advertising that is loved by their audiences.

Marketers will need to use automation tools to scale their efforts while also focusing more on engaging authentically with communities on social platforms. There will be a debate around the ethics of using artificial intelligence to automate social media engagement.

Social media: the best of 2014, and perspectives for 2015 - Social commerce, ...Agence Tesla
Quite a huge 2014 year we saw for online marketing overall, and social media in particular. Politics have, again, played a huge rule (sometimes unwantonly) in creating new behaviors. In Asia in particular:
Modi's election in India made him the second most followed politician on Facebook. With 27m fans, he's just behind Obama (The New York Times).
The Hong Kong Protests, and fear of Chinese censorship or network surveillance, propelled a whole series of new behaviors and apps, such as FireChat, which does not require access to the 3G or 4G networks (check this superb webdocumentary).
In Indonesia, the presidential election who made Jokowi the new leader of the 250m population country also showed how strong Twitter was there. Indonesia now makes more than 15% of ALL tweets globally.
A lot of new features have popped-up on our top social media, and a few trends are emerging, such as:
The rise of social commerce with Buy Buttons (Twitter, FB) and in-app shops (especially in messaging apps), and even Money transfer on Twitter and WeChat. YES, we may get close to a world with less banks...
More self-destruct post features, following the success of Snapchat. Instagram has it with Bolt, Facebook adds it as a feature...
Native advertising will, hopefully, help us get rid of banners and low-level ads. Did you know AdBlock is now used by 5% of the world's internet users (Monday Note)?

The workshop aimed to help the brand team better understand their audiences and optimize their Facebook content and advertising approaches.
Facebook Strategy Shift to Reach & FrequencyTom Edwards
Facebook is shifting its strategic focus from an engagement-driven model to a reach and frequency model based on paid media. This will significantly reduce organic reach for brands to 1-2% of followers. It means brands must now pay to reach audiences on Facebook. The document provides recommendations on creative, frequency, personalization, and optimization strategies given this change. It also discusses considerations around paid media, earned media, communities and defining the best path forward for each brand.
Facebook Zero: Considering Life After the Demise of Organic ReachOgilvy Consulting
Organic reach of the content brands publish in Facebook is destined to hit zero. It’s only a matter of time. With the impending end of organic reach, what are the consequences for marketers and others who use Facebook to connect with their communities? How can brands and corporates get the most from Facebook in the future? Is Facebook still a driver of “earned” conversation and word of mouth? Or is it just a straightforward paid channel? How should communities approach content and engagement going forward?
Facebook Zero: Considering Life After the Demise of Organic ReachAlan Martínez
1) Organic reach of content posted on Facebook brand pages has declined significantly from 16% in 2012 to an average of 6% in February 2014 and is expected to continue declining to near zero.
2) With the loss of organic reach, brands will need to use paid distribution to reach existing fans and fuel word-of-mouth sharing, but fans will still share content and have incremental value compared to average consumers.
3) Brands need to publish less but higher quality content targeted to interested fans and advocates, use paid distribution strategically, and pursue a platform-neutral social media strategy not dependent on any single platform like Facebook.
An advanced guide to social media marketing - by Simply ZestyTâm Nguyễn Đức Minh
KFC launched a successful mobile advertising campaign using augmented reality. When users held their phones over KFC packaging, it would overlay animations and additional information about products. Augmented reality allowed KFC to interact with customers in an innovative new way that took advantage of mobile capabilities. The presentation also discussed trends in mobile advertising, with banner ads declining in effectiveness and opportunities growing for ads integrated into mobile apps, games, and social media newsfeeds tailored to each user. Overall, mobile offers huge potential for targeted advertising but also challenges to engage users on a small screen.
Social@ogilvy Social Platform Advertising Updates POV: February 2014Ogilvy Consulting
This POV highlights recent updates and changes to social advertising offerings by Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Tumblr and Pinterest.
Throughout the year, social networks test and roll out new advertising products to improve their offerings for brands to better reach consumers. The social networks listed in this POV have added new ad units to their advertising suites that are currently or are about to be public to all brands.
By understanding each social network’s new advertising products, brands can leverage the options that best fit their business goals from driving awareness of a campaign to increasing website traffic to boosting ROI.
Visual content like videos on platforms like Vine, Snapchat, and Instagram will continue growing in popularity in 2015. Short videos under a minute are effective at targeting the right audience and sharing key information quickly. Social commerce also took steps forward in 2014 and will continue evolving, making the purchase process simpler through features like "Buy" buttons on social networks. However, brands must focus on customer engagement and building genuine relationships before engaging in social media sales. Contextual targeting of social ads will also continue improving in 2015 based on user data and behaviors.

Essentials of Automations: Exploring Attributes & Automation ParametersSafe Software
Building automations in FME Flow can save time, money, and help businesses scale by eliminating data silos and providing data to stakeholders in real-time. One essential component to orchestrating complex automations is the use of attributes & automation parameters (both formerly known as “keys”). In fact, it’s unlikely you’ll ever build an Automation without using these components, but what exactly are they?
Attributes & automation parameters enable the automation author to pass data values from one automation component to the next. During this webinar, our FME Flow Specialists will cover leveraging the three types of these output attributes & parameters in FME Flow: Event, Custom, and Automation. As a bonus, they’ll also be making use of the Split-Merge Block functionality.
You’ll leave this webinar with a better understanding of how to maximize the potential of automations by making use of attributes & automation parameters, with the ultimate goal of setting your enterprise integration workflows up on autopilot.

Conversational agents, or chatbots, are increasingly used to access all sorts of services using natural language. While open-domain chatbots - like ChatGPT - can converse on any topic, task-oriented chatbots - the focus of this paper - are designed for specific tasks, like booking a flight, obtaining customer support, or setting an appointment. Like any other software, task-oriented chatbots need to be properly tested, usually by defining and executing test scenarios (i.e., sequences of user-chatbot interactions). However, there is currently a lack of methods to quantify the completeness and strength of such test scenarios, which can lead to low-quality tests, and hence to buggy chatbots.
To fill this gap, we propose adapting mutation testing (MuT) for task-oriented chatbots. To this end, we introduce a set of mutation operators that emulate faults in chatbot designs, an architecture that enables MuT on chatbots built using heterogeneous technologies, and a practical realisation as an Eclipse plugin. Moreover, we evaluate the applicability, effectiveness and efficiency of our approach on open-source chatbots, with promising results.
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

From Natural Language to Structured Solr Queries using LLMsSease
This talk draws on experimentation to enable AI applications with Solr. One important use case is to use AI for better accessibility and discoverability of the data: while User eXperience techniques, lexical search improvements, and data harmonization can take organizations to a good level of accessibility, a structural (or “cognitive” gap) remains between the data user needs and the data producer constraints.
That is where AI – and most importantly, Natural Language Processing and Large Language Model techniques – could make a difference. This natural language, conversational engine could facilitate access and usage of the data leveraging the semantics of any data source.
The objective of the presentation is to propose a technical approach and a way forward to achieve this goal.
The key concept is to enable users to express their search queries in natural language, which the LLM then enriches, interprets, and translates into structured queries based on the Solr index’s metadata.
This approach leverages the LLM’s ability to understand the nuances of natural language and the structure of documents within Apache Solr.
The LLM acts as an intermediary agent, offering a transparent experience to users automatically and potentially uncovering relevant documents that conventional search methods might overlook. The presentation will include the results of this experimental work, lessons learned, best practices, and the scope of future work that should improve the approach and make it production-ready.

How information systems are built or acquired puts information, which is what they should be about, in a secondary place. Our language adapted accordingly, and we no longer talk about information systems but applications. Applications evolved in a way to break data into diverse fragments, tightly coupled with applications and expensive to integrate. The result is technical debt, which is re-paid by taking even bigger "loans", resulting in an ever-increasing technical debt. Software engineering and procurement practices work in sync with market forces to maintain this trend. This talk demonstrates how natural this situation is. The question is: can something be done to reverse the trend?
