What is Physical
Fitness?
Physical fitness is the body’s ability to
function effectively and efficiently
without undue fatigue in work. Leisure
activities, to meet emergency
situations and to resist diseases from
sedentary lifestyle

HEALTH-RELATED FITNESS
1. Muscular Strength - refers to the maximum amount of
force a muscle can exert against an opposing force
2. Muscular Endurance - refers to the ability of the muscles to
work over an extended period of time without fatigue.
3. Cardiovascular Endurance - It is the ability of the heart
(cardio) and circulatory system (vascular) to supply oxygen
to muscles for an extended period of time.
4. Flexibility - Is the ability to move a body part through a
full range of motion at a joint.
5. Body Composition - Is the ratio of body fat to lean body
mass. (BMI)
SKILL-RELATED FITNESS
1. Speed – the ability to perform a task or move from one
point to another.
2. Agility – the ability to quickly shift or change direction of
the body from one point to the other.
3. Power- maximum effort in a shortest possible time.
4. Balance – ability to stay in equilibrium.
5. Reaction Time – the amount it takes to respond to a
stimulus.
6. Coordination – Is the integration with hand/or foot
movement with the input of senses.
