This document provides information about physical fitness for 7th grade students in their first quarter. It defines physical fitness as the body's ability to function effectively without undue fatigue in work, leisure activities, and emergencies. The three facets of physical fitness are described as performing daily tasks, enjoying leisure activities, and meeting emergencies. Health-related components include muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, and body composition. Skill-related components include speed, agility, power, balance, reaction time, and coordination. Students are asked to classify examples as health-related or skill-related and to reflect on an activity measuring their own physical fitness.
