What is Physical Fitness
 It is the
ability to
perform and
enjoy day to
day physical
activities
without undue
fatigue.
Physical Fitness
Phyiscal Fitness is generally achieved
through:
Physical activity and exercise
Correct Nutrition
Enough rest (good quality of sleep)
Stress management and relaxation
Physical Fitness
 as the state of general well-being,
physically sound and healthy, along
with mental stability.
It is the capacity of the person to
meet the physical demands of daily
life and carry out the day’s
activities.

 Balanced body composition
 Cardiovascular fitness or

Balanced Body Composition
 The ratio of fat to
muscle. Minimum of fat and
maximum of lean mass is a
sign of healthy and fit
body.
Cardiovascular Fitness or Endurance
 define as the component which helps
to determine if the heart and lungs are
working in coordination.
Cardiovascular exercise or aerobics –
walking, running, biking, biking, rowing,
treadmills
Flexibility
 can be define as the component which
checks the ability of the joints in the
body to move to their full range of
motion.
Flexibility exercise – stretching, yoga, Tai
Chi
Muscular Endurance
 Ability of the body to perform
repeated exercise without
getting tired.
Strength exercise – running,
jogging, cross training
Muscular Strength
 The capability of the muscles to
lift weight.
Weight training exercise – push
up, pull ups, biceps curls, pectoral
fly, leg extensions, back extension

AGILITY
 Ability of a person to rapidly
change position or directions
of the entire space and
accuracy.
Assessment: shuttle zigzag run
BALANCE
 Ability of a person to control
human body or to maintain
equilibrium while stationary or
moving.
Assessment: balance beam
COORDINATION
 Ability of the person to use the
senses, such as sight and
hearing together with body
parts in performing a task.
Assessment: hand-eye & foot-
eye coordination
POWER
 Physical Fitness that relates to
the ability to the rate at which
one can perform. Combination of
strength and speed.
SPEED
 is the ability of a person to
execute motor movements
with high speed in shortest
period of time.
REACTION TIME
 A skill related PF that
relates to the time elapsed
between stimulation and the
beginning of the reaction.
