Reviews and lists also tease the audience with gossip and previews of content to draw them into specific sections.

2. Contents page for Q
The contents page for the Q magazine is spread over two pages, on both pages they
are both text and picture based. The colouring is very bright but at the same time is
set out in a more formal way in comparison to the NME magazine. The text is very
simple, it’s just labelling what’s on each page and attached is a small amount of
information about each one. The contents page(s) is similar the front cover as they
both symbolise the laid back approach in which this magazine expresses. At the
bottom of the first page there is a review, this is quite interesting for the audience as
it’s almost like a gossip piece about music artist, which viewers always love to hear.
Page two on the contents is mainly picture based it’s a medium close up of a band;
this could be to show the pictures and the bands importance and to highlight a main
article they are talking about. Attached to the picture is another small picture with
text stating ‘the 50 albums of the year ’ this is another good advertisement for the
audience as it almost gets them involved as to what’s happening. The layout of the
contents page is very structured, making it seem very informational, which is a good
thing for its audience as its orientating them in a more positive way, to what they
want to jump straight to in the magazine.
