Government of India in 1968
• Adopted by the Indian Parliament in 1968
• Reiterated in the National Policy on Education
in 1986
• Again in the National Education Policy 2019

a modern Indian Regional Language along
with Hindi and English.
• Those from Non-Hindi States should learn
Hindi along with Regional Language and

Formula
• Tamil Nadu declared a Two Language Formula
– Tamil and English
• Non-Hindi States place marginal importance
on Hindi
• Hindi States do not give any importance to
Regional Languages
