Pythagorean Theorem  Pythagorean Theorem is A 2 +B 2 = C 2 The  variables  stand for legs and hypotenuse. We use a right triangle for the theorem.
Example problem A 2 +B 2 =C 2 10 2 +12 2 =x 2 100+144=244 Find the square root of 144 X will equal 15.6 10 12 x
Distance Formula  Distance formula is written in coordinates. 1 st  you label the points x1, y1,x2  y2. 2 nd  you put them in the distance formula. 3 rd  you do the math
Example problem (1, 4) 2  (10, 16) 2 10-1 + 16-4 9 2  +  12 2   81+144= 255 Square 225 The answer will be 15.
