A group of business and charity leaders discussed whether purpose is a corporate revolution or bandwagon. They agreed that purpose must become central to business strategy in order to survive long-term changes in society. Purpose drives clarity, engagement and growth, but most organizations have yet to implement it genuinely. While purpose offers commercial benefits, its adoption requires authentic leadership from boards, integration into strategy, and a broader view of corporate success than short-term profits.
