For my music magazine I have called it ‘IT’ I personally think that this name suggests
to the readers that the magazine is current and new. The theme of my magazine is
pop/punk, so I want to make my magazine pop-y but also with a art-y style added to
it, so it makes people pick up the magazine and they are interested in it and they
want to read it to find out more. My target audience is older teenagers (15/16+), I
have chosen this target audience so I can include adult speech (Not swear words or
rude words, just text that an older teenager will understand rather than a child that
was 10 or 11). I am also targeting on girls on this magazine, I think that it will be
quite girly and I hope that girls will pick up the magazine and buy it, however I would
hope that some boys would be interested in my magazine also. I want to make my
magazine interesting to look at, so it stands out from other magazines and the public
pick it up.
I picked IT for the name of my magazine as it stands out and it is simple and
easy to remember, I need to make sure that I link the name of my magazine with my
theme of my magazine and make it so that the public remember it.
The two images that are on the top of the magazine are my ideas for the style
of writing that I want my masthead to be in. As it is only two letters I need to make
sure that it is going to stand out, that is why I need it to be bold and bright (Even if
the bright colour is black, it will stand out). I am not sure what colour to have it, as it
all depends on the colours on my front cover magazine, if it is bright and colourful I
will keep the masthead a minimal colour so it does not just blend in to the right of
the magazine I want it to stand out so it is easy for people to spot.
