The document outlines a plot idea for a horror/thriller film about a 16-17 year old girl who experiences symptoms of schizophrenia or paranoia without realizing it. She sees things that aren't there and people tell her to see a doctor. The doctor diagnoses her with schizophrenia. actually a killer, who eventually kills her family – however she gets the blame for it but finds
out it is the boy and kills him at the end.
 Girl wakes up and jumps out of bed and puts her iPod on, giving off diegetic sound. The
song could be happy and quite ‘girly’ – giving off a happy, good mood.
 Girl goes through her morning routine in the bathroom etc.
 Girl then goes downstairs and can still hear music clearly and she is grabbing cereal from
cupboard and then pours cereal into a bowl and getting a drink whilst dancing (possibly
with earphones in)
 Sits down at the table to eat her breakfast and mother is doing the ironing. Mother then
begins to talk so girl has to take her earphones out making the music stop and eventually
fade out or stop. Girl gets annoyed as she and her mother don’t have a good relationship
as she doesn’t really like her.
 Girl then looks into the mirror to see her mother looking horrific and extremely scary
giving off a shriek.
 Girl then turns around and looks back at the mother (not in the mirror) and sees her
normally. Her mother says “What’s the matter, dear?” and the daughter replies with
“erm… Nothing. It doesn’t matter.” There is then a silence as the girl’s phone begins to
ring really loudly.
 Her friend, on the phone, tells her to come to her house as she is alone. The girl then
agrees and proceeds to go upstairs and get ready.
 The girl then walks out of the house and down the road, on the way to her friend’shouse,
the girls has to walk through the woods as there is a short cut that way.
 The paranoia begins again and the bushes start to rustle and the music starts to become
tense as the girl tries her best not to hear these things.
 The music then intensifies and the girl starts running, as she runs she trips over and as
mysterious figure wearing all black towers over her. This will be a POV shot and will slowly
pan upwards towards his face.
 Her friendis behind her shouting her name – we can see the girl look at her friend.As she
turns back around the mysterious person has gone.
 The title ‘Psychosis’ then appears on screen – with white writing and a black background,
the writing will then turn red.
