Headroom refers to the space above subjects in a video frame. Leaving headroom avoids cutting subjects off and mimics real-life perspective. Always test equipment before shooting and check sound levels with a brief test. Get earphones to monitor audio quality while recording. When shooting, avoid horseplay, follow schedules, cooperate with others, and listen as a team player. Leave space beside subjects' faces as if drawing a dialogue box, and allow room for subjects to walk in order to get good footage. Do not shake the camera, make background noises, or rough handle the camera while shooting to avoid poor quality footage. Take notes while filming to help with editing order and story

If you’re standing right in front of someone, you’ll see that they will have space all around them and not cut of by the frame. 4. Talking/ walking room You don’t want them looking at the camera. you want to leave room at the side of their face as if you were going to draw a dialogue box in for them . if the person in motion gives them space to walk to.

5. What Not To Do While Shooting Do not shake the camera while shooting. Do not make noises in the background while you are shooting because the noise will end up in the movie. Don’t rough house with the camera, it could easily break. Randy Tebeau

6. Editing Techniques It's a good idea to take notes. When you edit, your notes will tell you which scenes are good. Tell the story in order. Leave some room around each scene. Don’t fade until end of filming . Then go in later and fade while editing. Thomas Wiggins
