Rev. 19:1-6 After this I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, crying, "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, for his judgments are true and just; he has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication, and he has avenged on her the blood of his servants." Once more they cried, "Hallelujah! The smoke from her goes up for ever and ever." And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who is seated on the throne, saying, "Amen. Hallelujah!" And from the throne came a voice crying, "Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, small and great." Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty thunderpeals, crying, "Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.
Solomon, with all his wealth, fame and power struggled with the real meaning of life. What is the bottom line of our purpose here? He finally concluded that the bottom line was to fear God, keep His commandments because everything else is unimportant and judgement is coming!
What is a kingdom? What characterizes God's kingdom? How is it different from the kingdoms of this world? In what way is the kingdom of God "within you"? How did you become a part of God's kingdom? When will God's kingdom be fully realized on earth? How do earthly powers, or authority, differ from God's? How is God's power evidenced in your life? How would you describe glory? How was God's glory manifested in the Old Testament? Was His glory revealed differently in the New Testament? How is His glory manifested today? These and many more questions are addressed in this study.

"But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa's heart was perfect with the LORD all his days." (1 Kings 15:11-14 )
Psalm 2 begins with a question: “Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?.” In response, God gives the nations the cosmic raspberry and ridicules their pride, claiming that he has set his king on Zion (v 5–6). v 7–9, recalls this coronation, noting especially God’s promise to make the nations his heritage. Armed with this confidence, God rebukes the rulers of the earth, telling them to serve Him by bowing the knee to God’s anointed king (v 10–12).
So if we were to summarize the message of Psalm 2, we could say that because God has enthroned his king, the nations of the earth should repent of their rebellion and take refuge in the Messiah/ The Lord Jesus Christ.

When Arioch, the commander of the king's guard, had gone out to put to death the wise men of Babylon, Daniel spoke to him with wisdom and tact. 15 He asked the king's officer, "Why did the king issue such a harsh decree?" Arioch then explained the matter to Daniel. 16 At this, Daniel went in to the king and asked for time, so that he might interpret the dream for him.
17 ¶ Then Daniel returned to his house and explained the matter to his friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. 18 He urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. 19 During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven 20 and said: "Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. 21 He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. 22 He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him. 23 I thank and praise you, O God of my fathers: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king."

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

2. The Rebellion of
the Nations
(Psa 2:1-2 NIV)
Why do the nations conspire and the
peoples plot in vain? 2The kings of the
earth take their stand and the rulers
gather together against the LORD and
against his Anointed One.
3. • The nations plot and kings
conspire against God and His
Messiah
• They rebel against God
• We too rebel against God. We go
our own way rather than God’s
way
4. (Psa 2:4-6 NIV) The One enthroned in
heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.
5Then he rebukes them in his anger and
terrifies them in his wrath, saying, 6"I have
installed my King on Zion, my holy hill."
5. • God responds with laughter
• God mocks rebellion because it
has no place with Him
• God is in complete control of
the universe
• God rules over all the world –
He rules it all
6. (Psa 2:6-8 NIV) "I have installed my King on
Zion, my holy hill." 7I will proclaim the decree of
the LORD: He said to me, "You are my Son ;
today I have become your Father. 8 NIV) Ask
of me, and I will make the nations your
inheritance, the ends of the earth your
possession.
7. • God will give His anointed one sovereignty
over all the earth
• God will allow everything to be under His
possession and authority
• Jesus is indeed the fulfillment of this
promise
• Jesus will one day return and set up His
eternal Kingdom
8. (Psa 2:11-12 NIV) Serve the LORD with fear
and rejoice with trembling. 12Kiss the Son,
lest he be angry and you be destroyed in
your way, for his wrath can flare up in a
moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in
him.
9. • God is calling us to serve Him
with fear (reverence)
• God is calling us to serve Him
with rejoicing
• God is calling us to serve Him
with trembling
10. (Phil 2:12 NIV) Therefore, my dear friends,
as you have always obeyed--not only in my
presence, but now much more in my
absence--continue to work out your
salvation with fear and trembling.
