2. 2
7 The memory of the just is blessed: but the name
of the wicked shall rot.
How do you want to be remembered?
Be that person!
3. 3
8 The wise in heart will receive (accept) Command-
ments: but a prating (chattering) fool shall fall.
God keeps coming back to this Truth:
A teachable spirit is the mark of wisdom.
A hardened fool won’t be quiet to learn.
Talking when he could be

4. 4
9 He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he
that perverteth his ways shall be known.
(TLB) 9 A good man has firm footing, but a crook
will slip and fall.
When we have our foot on
the Rock we will stand.
Be strong.
Be consistent.
All your life.
5. 5
10 He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but
a prating fool shall fall.
(TLB) 10 Winking at sin leads to sorrow; bold
reproof leads to peace.
To wink at sin or to talk lightly of sin
is to fall into sin.
Sin is serious with serious
consequences.
6. 6
11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life:
but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
(TLB) 11 There is living Truth in what a good man
says, but the mouth of the evil man is filled with
curses.
(NIV) 11 The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of
life, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the
wicked.
7. 7
Matthew 12 34 O generation of vipers, how can
ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the
abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 35 A
good man out of the good treasure of the heart
bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of
the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
Pay attention to the way you speak and what
you speak about; it reveals your heart.
8. 8
1 Corinthians 11 31 For if we would judge
ourselves, we should not be judged.
9. 9
12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all
sins.
Hateful speech will stir up a fight.
Words of love bring peace.
An argumentative person has a troubled life.

10. 10
13 In the lips of him that hath understanding
wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him
that is void of understanding.
Again, God says that our words reveal
who and what we are.
God will apply the rod;
we don’t have to.
